Your In-Laws are on their way too

When Renard and Lucilla were told of the birth of their grandchildren, the two were ecstatic and overwhelmed with joy. But Renard and Lucilla had both been caught by surprise by the arrival of a sizable number of men who were originally stationed to safeguard Daynland. Their commanding officer Otto had ordered them home for some rest while fresh recruits took their place. Otto himself would later by recalled and have someone replace his command. Renard and Lucilla had to accomodate the men and see to their journey home.

Once that was done and over with, Renard and Lucilla hastened and took off for the capital, bringing with them a good number of guards, retainers and servants for the road. Among those servants is Bertha. Bertha is the family's trusted and more than capable healer. A woman in her 50s with the graying hair and the wrinkling skin that came with the age, Bertha has been in the service of Renard's family for a long time.

She has never married and has no children of her own. Some say her dedication to the noble family of Westgrenze kept her from pursuing such matters. No one knew for sure what the reason is really aside from Bertha herself. Not even Renard who saw Bertha as a second mother, having been a baby when Bertha was hired by his widowed mother.

And soon they made it to the capital. Renard and Lucilla are eager to meet their grandchildren. So is Bertha who is more curious rather than joyous.
