What's next?
Your 23rd birthday
you are John Doe and today is your 23rd birthday. You were picked up last night by a UWA employee at your parents' house. Your father was killed in an accident shortly after you were born and your mother has been living alone with you ever since. You are not badly off, but you can't be called wealthy either. You are a normal young man. Your strengths lie more in the theoretical area. In your school days, you were never conspicuous. Nobody noticed you. Everyone went for the guys and men with cool mutations, but you were never noticed. Later, you start to study. In 2 months, it's time for the graduation ceremony, and you've already found out that your thesis has passed. You have had only short relationships and never one of the hot women.
You are already imagining how they will tell you that you have a tiny mutation, for example, that your insides have a different color, and then you can disappear again into your insignificant life. After 9 hours of tests and what feels like an eternity of waiting, you are taken out of the waiting room and into a small meeting room.
You walk down the hall, thinking to yourself, "Super, now they tell you that you're insignificant." This building must be huge, you think, and finally, reach the door. There is nothing in the room except a desk and a small filing cabinet. On the other side of the room, there is also a door. The room is bathed in a cold light from LED lamps. So far, you have only been examined by female doctors and researchers. So you are a little surprised when the door opens and an older man enters the room. He was not wearing a smock but a gray suit. He entered the room without a word and stepped closer to the table, on which he placed a red folder.
*Red as failure*, you thought to yourself as you sat down in response to the man's gesture. He cleared his throat. His voice was warm and wise.
"You are Mr. John Doe?" he asked.
"Yes," you stammer, "what kind of mutation is it?" You send it after.
"Um...." He begins, and you lean back in resignation. "None."
You startle at the word. "What do you mean none?" You ask.
"They have no mutation." So says the man. "I congratulate you, Mr. {last name}. You are an ace."
You shake your head in disbelief. But the man shows you the test result in black and white. "What does that mean now?" You inquire, unsure."We're going to save their genetic code. Insert an identification implant into them and create the Wild Ace AusweiĆ. After that, they will be equipped with the laws and rules for aces. In the future, they will work for the UWA. with a monthly salary of 4,000 UWA dollars. Of course, they will be exempt from all taxes and receive many more benefits." The man said all this dryly and emotionlessly as if nothing had happened. But it almost knocks you off your stool. 4000 UWA dollars is almost 4 times your current salary.
The man grabs your arm and puts it on the table. With a device that looks like a barcode reader, he swipes your arm. Suddenly you feel a sharp pain and notice how something is pushing under your skin.
"Do you have any questions?" the man asks with a now tired expression on his face.
