Chapter 8 by The-Drunken-Bandit The-Drunken-Bandit

What do you pick?

Young Queen Moon

Hmm… Recruiting Moon will she’s still young be difficult. Not impossible… Just… Difficult.

As you return to your throne, you begin to think about how it may be possible to recruit the young queen.

As you sit and ponder, you realize that your normal method of recruiting a henchman will not be effective in this case…

No…

No. This requires a… Personal touch.

With your plan set in mind, you rise from your throne and immediately call for one of your minions to bring your War Axe.

As your minions rush off to the forges to fetch your weapon. You immediately focus your magic into the dungeon heart pool to open a portal to only point in time that you could possibly recruit moon.

As the water rises from the pool to form a spinning portal that opens with a loud boom! One of your goblins returns to the room with your Axe in hand and immediately offers it to you.

As you take the weapon you note its overall appearance. The axe is fairly simple in its design, it is a single-handed war axe.

The blade head of the weapon is rather simple in its design. As it resembles much like a hammer in its profile shape. Of course, said Hammer has a long blade in front of it that can create an impromptu handguard if you put your hand all the way up to the head of the axe. Also, the back of the axe has a very sharp spike in the back to puncture armor.

Following down the shaft of the weapon is rather simple being made of a specialized oak that is as hard as steel. That has a simple leather wrapping around it to provide a grip.

Overall the axe is pretty ordinary, however, what makes it special is the engravings on both the accent and the shaft of the weapon. These special engravings are enchantments that allow you to focus on several different elements through the axe at any given time! These elements can range from the simple fire enchantment to the rare yet powerful explosive enchantment!

With your weapon in hand and portal opened it is time you made your appearance to the young queen!

(Butterfly Castle)

(Moon's Library)

Speaking of said young queen, we now turn our attention to the teenage queen as she stands in the castle’s library.

As the young queen stood staring directly into the forbidden and locked pages of her ancestor Eclipsa’s chapter in the book of spells. She begins to wonder to herself and question whether or not this is the wisest idea to contact Eclipsa.

As she stood there contemplating whether or not she should go to her ancestor and to seek her aid in defeating the rogue monster general. She was shaken by the sudden appearance of a swirling portal!

This portal was unnatural in comparison to the ones that she had created with dimensional scissors as this one look like a swirling vortex of water. As the young queen contemplated on whether or not she should call the guards, a figure slowly appeared through the portal.

Moon quickly raised her wand in preparation as she prepared for the worst. Her mind ran rampant with fear and anxiety as she watched the figure slowly come into existence.

As the figure stepped into the library she was beheld to the sight of a giant of a man who stood well over 7 feet tall and was dressed in sinister-looking Gothic plate armor! She could see that the man was armed with a single overly large one-handed axe that hung loosely from his belt. However, what stood out the most to the young queen was this man’s burning yellow eyes that shone out from his blood red hood that hid his face into nonexistence.

As this figure stepped into the room the portal behind him quickly vanished into nonexistence. As moon stared at this man she began to shake in fear and terror as she was beheld the sight of you! She could barely even stutter out a single question!

“W-who?! W-who a-are you!?!” Moon stutters out in fear at the sight of you as she fears the worst. As she does so her thoughts begin to run rampant as she fears that you have come to kill her and end the butterfly bloodline. She has already lost her mother, how easy it would be for her to die as well…

As you stare at the frightened and terrified 18-year-old queen you take in her appearance. Which even though she is dress in a cloak and battle armor you could still make out her figure.

Moon has yet to reach her adult height of 5 foot 7 and currently stands at a shorter height of 5 foot 5. This can also be said for the rest of her body as her breasts have not reached the large D cup she will inherit as an adult. No, right now they currently stand much more closely with her daughters medium B cup breasts. Her hips have yet to widen from childbirth and are at this point only average in size. Her ass is still has the same heart shape to it, but her ass is a little bit smaller being only about a medium sized rear.

Her long pale blue hair has the same hairstyle as her daughter star, with the exception being that she has two long straight strands of hair from either side of her head next to her ears.

Moon is currently wearing her battle armor that consists of a dark gray sleeveless top that appears to be made of metal, a grey belt with a silver diamond in the center, a lighter gray knee-length plated skirt with diamond edges at the bottom, and a white wing-like shoulder pads. Her outfit is finally topped off with a pair of gray leather boots with white tips and a tall golden crown with a pink diamond in the center of it.

If you had to judge moon at first appearance you’d say should look every bit the Princess she was born as. However, you need to focus on calming her before she calls the guards.

With that in mind, you raise your hands in a sign of surrender, which at first confuses the Queen as she looks at you with a curious expression on her face. Before quickly shaking her head and switching to a much more aggressive stance as she begins to demand answers from you.

“Who are you?! Tell me now or I’m going to call the guards!” Moon demands as she has gained a little bit more confidence seeing that you mean her no harm.

“I’m a friend that wants to help Queen Moon…” You say slowly as you calm baritone reverberates against the stone walls of the castle. Though this does not calm Moon as her grip on her wand grows even tighter as she stares at you with an ugly scowl on her face.

“Help?! How can you possibly help me!?” Moon questions in a tense tone as she stares at you. She has yet to lower her wand and looks ready to call the guards. You need to act fast or you will lose your chance to get her on your side forever!

“I can help you deal with your… Lizard problem. Quite easily I might add.” You state calmly as you keep your arms raised. At this Moon seems to tense up even more as her wand begins to glow brightly and she gains a look of rage as she now full on glares at you.

“What do you know about the lizard!? Did he send you here?!” Moon yells as she looks ready to attack you. In response, you chuckle a little which only seems to enrage the young queen even more, but this rage soon turns into confusion as you speak.

“I know quite a lot young Moon. I know his name and I know it is he who killed your mother. I also know that the man that calls himself the lizard has been in existence for a very long time. What’s more, I know of a way to permanently destroy him and ensure that he will never come back.” Moon gains a look of confusion on her face as the light in her wand fades as her anger is slowly replaced with shocked confusion.

“W-What you talking about? The lizard is a monster from the reptilian tribe. They’re all effectively indestructible, nothing we have ever tried has ever fully destroyed them.” Moon questions you as she slowly lowers her wand, yet she keeps it out at the ready in case you try something.

“Ah, yes most normal ways won't destroy a creature like the reptilian’s. However, my way is far from normal. Let me ask you a question young Moon. Ever since your mother’s ****, have you felt lost and overwhelmed by those in court who are constantly telling you what you should be?” You asked slowly as you slowly bring down your arms to your sides.

In response to your question moon lowers her wand even further as it now hangs loosely in her right hand, as she stares down with her eyes to the side. She stays quiet for a little bit as she contemplates of whether or not she should answer you, but she does eventually respond.

“I-I-I- Yes… Yes, ever since my mom died everybody has been demanding me to make these big decisions and honestly, I have no idea what to do! I can't even decide which boy I like! I can’t decide the future of Mewni! I mean I’m just a kid!” Moon shouts as she grabs the long straight locks of her hair in frustration. She looks ready to tear her own hair out in frustration as she continues.

“I don’t know how to run a kingdom, let alone how to fight a war!” Moon shouts as she begins to falter in her rant as she stares downcast at the floor looking helpless.

“I just… I just feel so lost at times…” Moon says quietly as she looks down at the ground. You hum to yourself as you digest this information and walk over and put an armored hand on the young queen's shoulder.

In response, moon looks up at you as you speak.

“I can understand Moon. The responsibilities of being a monarch… Are not easy nor are they simple. If they were then everybody would be a king. That is why I have an offer for you Moon.” You tell the young pale haired queen slowly as she looks at you with questioning eyes.

“My offer is this, I will teach you how to be both a queen and a powerful magic user. In exchange, you will become my right hand or well to be more honest, a henchgirl that works for me. If you do so I will end all the conflicts within Mewni and bring about an age of peace. I will not lie to you some of my methods may be… ****, but they will work.” You offer to the young queen who looks at you with wide eyes. Immediately Moon backs away from you and shrugs off your shoulder.

“Right hand? Henchgirl!? What are you!? Some kind of villain!?” Moon questions loudly as she stares at you with wide eyes as she slowly brings her wand back up. At this, you sigh a little and elaborate a little further for the young queen.

Sigh… Let me explain Moon. Yes. I am a villain, but I am a villain that seeks to bring order and stability to a chaotic multiverse. While I am evil, I am only evil to the point that it creates progress to make those under my rule have better lives. In doing so, I prefer to see myself as a noble evil, a good man who does evil things for the betterment of all.” You explain to the pale-haired girl. Moon looks at you with **** confusion within her eyes as she tries to process what you have said.

“I- Noble evil? That doesn’t make any sense! How can you be good, yet do evil things at the same time?!” Moon questions as she lowers her wand. Your response is one of pragmatism as you look at the young queen with absolute certainty in your eyes.

“Evil. Good. My dear those are just labels. What may be good for you, maybe evil for another. Here let me give an example, say your people are starving and have no ability to grow any food due to a natural disaster. Your neighboring kingdom has a surplus of food, but refuses to share it with your people for one reason or another. What will you do to ensure the safety and security of your people?” You ask the young queen.

Moon doesn’t respond as her mind tries to come up with an answer…

“I-I don’t know.” Moon stutters out in insecurely as her eyes hold great confusion and uncertainty within them. At this, you hum to yourself as you explain the possible solutions to the proposed problem.

“Hmm… well, Moon, there are several ways to get the food your people need in a situation like this.

The first option is, of course, trying to trade with the neighboring kingdom, but that will most likely come at a high price as the neighboring kingdom will try to extort whatever they can out of your **** people. “You begin as Moon’s eyes widen with shock at the possible outcome.

“Why would they do that!?” Moon questions incredulously as she stares at you with shock.

“Because people in power are by their nature greedy and will often seek to increase their wealth by any means necessary. Moving on, the second option is to simply do nothing and simply starve, which in itself is unacceptable as that would mean you do not care for your people or are too weak to do anything to save them.” You continued with your example as Moon begins to grip her hands into tight fists as worry begins to grow within her eyes.

“I-I-I” Moon trails off as she tries to argue against your example, but is unable to do so. This does not deter you as you continue your example.

“The final option and perhaps the only option that remains is to take what you need by ****. This option will come with a lot of hardships, but it is the most certain route in ensuring your people safety.

In the eyes of the neighboring kingdom, you will be perceived as evildoers who are attacking and raiding their lands for no good reason. However, to your people, you will seem like a just ruler who cares about them deeply enough to go to war for them.” You finish as Moon looks at you with great uncertainty within her eyes as cannot argue with your example or its results. Moon simply stay silent and soon looks downcast at the floor her eyes jumping back and forth as she tries to find a way to argue against your ways.

At this, you walk forward and once again place your hand on Moon's shoulder and use the other to lift her chin up gently so that she looks at you in the eye.

“Like I said before Moon good and evil are simply labels when it comes to ensuring the safety of your people. True enough there are good actions and terrible in this world and the many others that exist out there, but when it comes to the safety of others and ensuring that they live happy and prosperous lives. The lines between good and evil cease to exist, at that point all you can do is do your best. Both for your people and for yourself.” You tell the young queen as she stares back up at you with great hesitation as it seems she is having an argument within herself. At this you back away and offer a single armored hand out to the young queen who looks at it with great uncertainty as you ask one last time.

“So, let me ask this again young Queen. Do you want to do what you must to save your people? Are you willing to walk the charred road with me in order to save your people?” Moon looks at you and back at your hand as her eyes hold great conflict within them as the good and logical parts of her mind war against themselves at your offer as you finish.

“Will you be my henchgirl Young Moon Butterfly?”

Does Moon accept your offer?
