You wouldn't miss it

You think about it for a few seconds then nod. "Of course. What do you think is going on?"

"Your guess is as good as mine. It was like some kind of weird sorority, but there aren't any here, at least supposedly. Most of them seemed to be students, obviously Chanel is and the girls who accidentally showed me this door. The two leaders wore masks and red robes. I couldn't see them but I had the sense they were older. The others called them 'Mother,' and their voiced were muffled by the masks."

"Are you saying they were teachers?"

"I don't know what the hell I'm saying. Maybe they're teachers, maybe they're just leaders of whatever cult or whatever the hell it is they're doing. But consider something else. Someone built this thing, and not yesterday. So whatever this White Briary thing is they've probably been around a while. Maybe it's like Skull and Bones at Yale. God knows these people have enough money and power to do this."

You shake your head, trying to grasp what he's telling you and finding your curiosity growing by the second.

"What time are they meeting?"

"I assume around the same time as last night. I was going to keep watch until the girls had gone in, then sneak in after them."

You nod agreement as he closes the door.

"We better get to the library. The meeting will be starting soon," Mason says, then grins and nods to the ribbon tied box you still hold. "I see you met Miss Duplessis."

"Uhhh...yes. Why did she give you one too?"

"Yes. Cupcakes iced like tits? Me too. I'm guessing Darnell and Kyle got some too."

"Probably," you chuckle, slightly disappointed that the pretty French girl hadn't singled you out. "She's quite the tease."

"So she'll fit right in at this place," Mason laughs.
