You try to evade

You try to evade the creature as it takes a jump at you. And you do. But as soon as it hits the ground, it jumps at you again. This time you are unable to evade, and it bites painfully in your thigh, tearing through your skin and flesh. Then it simply calls it a day, and goes back to the cover of the trees.

You collapse on the ground in pain. You look down to your thigh, with your flesh torn apart and bleeding heavily. You know that you have zero chance to survive this. Luckily, there is also an artery that got torn apart in the process, so you bleed out relatively quickly.
