How did you respond?
You told a white lie
You feel your face heat up further. "Well, they were products from some eco-friendly vendors we're working with. They're designed to be more comfortable and sustainable. Sarah noticed I was uncomfortable during our long meetings while we were doing visits, and she suggested I try them. At first, I thought it was a weird idea, but when I saw they looked like boxers, I thought there was no harm in trying them out. And she was right. They're just... better."
Your mom seems to consider this for a moment, her disapproval still evident but softened by your honesty. "Alex, this is... unusual. But if it's really just about comfort and sustainability, I suppose I can understand that. Just be careful, okay? People might not understand."
"Thanks, Mom," you say, feeling a mix of relief and embarrassment. "I appreciate it."
She sighs, shaking her head slightly. "Alright. Just... make sure you put them away properly."
