What the hell do you do now?
You think
_AN: I am glad to finally be back in writing this. It has been too long since I last touched it, and there a million ideas I haven't touched yet! This is a lanch off of point, so it is a little skimpy. But, on the other hand, it is an update. Looking forward your comments. _~Talonblade
The cloud that you had been standing on suddenly decided to follow the rules again and you plummeted. Your palms and forehead got sweaty, your muscles tense, and you counted your fingers just to be sure. Still, only 10, and the rest of you seemed to be the same as where you started. As far as you could tell anyway, you were safe for the moment. You were shocked beyond belief, there were more artifacts.
For a while, you had hoped that you were just in a hentai like-world. That reality would leave you alone to romance Amber and maybe bang your other sisters while you slowly considered your actions, their consequences, and most importantly what kind of kinky shit you wanted to pull. But that is all gone now. Now, you are left in a lurch. There is another artifact out there, waiting for someone to grab it and use to their advantage. God, what if the deviant who grabbed it caused every girl to be submissive in some sick power play? "Well," you consider, "I did make girls into cat-girls and poof up some sisters to bang but... it's different!" Logically it was the same but... no, what you did was give girls inclinations, maybe some **** habits or fetishes. You didn't.... wouldn't make women or men into slaves, or anything like that. When you think of doing that to Amber, to your family... yeah, not in a million years.
In a way, you muse, this was a good thing. It would be too easy to get a god complex with a book of this power. You could **** an end to any social trend you disliked, make all women into slaves, or make **** the norm. While that last thought had an appeal to it, you kinda enjoy trecking through misery to get your rewards in life.
That doesn't change the fact that this "Dissertation on Life" is a serious threat to everything that you have built so far. It seemed that, while you could alter people in an organization in some limited and noticeable way, the Dissertation could alter your biology in a way that you might not even notice! Some idiot could eliminate a gender, turn you all into furries, make a matriarchy, or give everyone superpow-
You squint your eyes for a minute, a cool breeze on your bare skin from the AC. You take out your pencil.
"New Rule: Humanity knows the secrets of spellcasting."
You look at back at Amber for a few minutes before leaning back down. Even though the corner of your eye you can see her breasts jiggle and warp as she moves her body. God, how was your sister so sexy without even trying? Oh, that's right. She's Amber.
Looking around you notice a few wands and other ritual implements laying around, and a quick Google search a lot of Life hacks that involve legal magic. You promptly erase that rule and try something else on a hunch on your family's section.
"Old Rule: The Ivy family is a part of a secret order that hunts down magical books and other written mediums that re-write reality."
You get nervous as the letters change and rearrange themselves again.
"The creation of Secrets is the purview of the Lexicon of the Unknown. Please contact the current user if you wish to make this change."
You stop thinking of your sister for a moment, who is quietly giggling while looking at something, and back onto the book. This was worrying to the ****, because who knows how many books there are and what all your limitations are. Well, it seemed that your book could do a little of what the other books can do as long as it follows the main theme of Public Organizational Change and it didn't try to target humanity wholesale with its alterations that are outside of the book's purview.
You can safely assume that the other books have similar limits and regulations. What really baffled you is where the lines were drawn. You _know _you altered that cafe to make people into catgirls with bigger boobs, but you couldn't alter a woman's biology wholesale. You could bring real magic into the world, but not create a secret order to help find these damn books.
The most worrying part is, would you notice if something changed in the world, or think it was completely normal like the rest of the population. The only real major changes were playful sexual bullying being normal amongst siblings and making clean energy the norm, the rest of your changes were more localized and limited in scope. Still, it was.. worrying. Because there were new books out there, books that could penetrate your new and wonderful domestic life with your sisters. More importantly, you had made to big scale changes to the world, noticeable ones at that. You felt the clean air on your (natural, correct, perfect) nude form while you thought to yourself.
If there where others with these books, then two things could be true. One, they could make changes that you would notice, thus the opposite being true. That would mean that you announced yourself on a stage when you hadn't read your lines yet. Or two, they could make changes that you didn't notice and your secret is safe, but then they could alter you in ways that you wouldn't notice till you got your hands on their books.
Then again maybe you could just... ignore it all? Pretend that you never tried to alter the biology of women and just enjoy yourself with Amber? If you can and do notice tragic changes, maybe then you would act, but so far there isn't some Cabal or something knocking down your door and breaking your fingers for the book. Maybe you could just... relax?
AN: I got the idea of the Lexicon of the Unknown from the Items of Power sub-story called the Book of Secrets by ComteCheese. Its underappreciated in my books and a novel take on the 'items that alter reality' thing.
What do you do about the books? Do any changes happen? If so, do you notice?
