You still have too few answers

Why would you stop and put away the watch when it has been the first thing in weeks that is not part of the boring monotonous status quo? It's intriguing, strange, and it seems harmless. What had it actually done? tell you something about someone you already knew? If you actually had any knowledge of technology higher than configuring your phone you would have loved to pick apart how the thing was working, but as it was there was only one way you could do it, and that was keep doing what you are already doing.

You arrive at the library barely on time. You run in and wave silently at your other coworker, Samantha, already sitting at the main desk. She is already lost in her clouds reading a book pc and doesn't notice you come in. That's perfect, so you have an excuse to approach and tap her on the shoulder. She is what you would call the stereotypical bookish girl. Round glasses, brown hair perfectly placed in a bun, frilly white shirt with a grey cardigan on top. You are not surprised when you see BOOKISH on the watch as you say hello to her face so that she knows you are here. Sometimes she would scare herself an hour or two into the shift by finding you at your desk without having you seen clock in. You make two steps away when you remember something. You tap at the librarian a second time.

"Oh, Ronald has told me yesterday to email professor Carel about her orders, have they come in yet?"

"Let me check... the courier's gonna drop them off at twelve, you can tell her to come get them from then onwards."

"Thanks, Sam"

She smiles and puts the book completely down, instead checking something else on the library computer. As you move away you see the screen lit up again. Right under BOOKISH you see written LIBRARIAN. Why? Did it work twice? And with different words... Before you can continue your testing you have a job to do though.

Being a Friday morning you are not expecting a lot of people, so you do a fast sweep of the rooms to see if anything is in order then you plop yourself at the secondary archival computer and start your boring cataloguing routine. Or that what it looks like you are doing. Instead you are once again fiddling with the watch. At the moment only BOOKISH and LIBRARIAN are visible under the time, while ATHLETE and BOSSY are on the left menu, with the other two words repeated. You fatfinger the word BOSSY and it starts blinking, like it's been selected for something. Going back to the main screen you touch BOOKISH and the two words swap with each other. The right menu is still empty. You once again try and press the button and this time it seems to do something.

You have thirty minutes before something happens. What? You have no idea. Plus it seems you are locked on doing anything else with the watch. Well, this allows you to send that email to professor Carel. Yay!

Not even ten minutes in and the oddities have just begun. You see in the corner of your eyes Samantha getting up from her desk and make her way to the entrance. That's strange in it's own way, but you never know with her, sometimes she could be lost in her head and do something unexplicable. What clocked you as really strange was that you swore she had discarded her grey cardigan and had her hair down. You never saw Samantha with her hair down. Not even outside of working hours. "It's all alright?" You shout from where you are(Yeah, shouting in a library, thankfully Roland is not here today).

Sam turns with a smile and mutters an unsure "Yeah", before exiting your view... Okay, that had been something slightly strange, but nothing really strange. You go back to your work and wait for the timer to finish.

BEEP BEEP.

Even if the sound is not that loud, the echo of the place you are in startles you. You take a look and you can see in bold letters BOSSY-LIBRARIAN blinking on and off over a red colored screen. Just that? You were expecting something a bit more exciting. Instead the watch had taken two words and put them on the same row. It was more strange the fact that Sam hadn't come back yet.

You do a sweep of the premise to see if she's somewhere. The main desk is empty. You can't see her books nor the cardigan anywhere. Plus the pc was turned off. You were just about to call your boss when the door opens and woman about your age walks in with two kids. You do not know her, she is obviously not a regular. She seems to be around your age, with a tired look on her face but nonetheless a warm and welcoming expression. As the two youngs venture on their own into the kid's section of the library, the woman approaches you.

"Can I do anything for you?" You ask as you boot up Sam's PC, as it's the one on the main desk at the entrance.

"Yes, I was looking for a couple of school books, here is the list. And then, if it's not a problem, I will just take a look around"

As she takes a paper with some long names written on it you know this is your chance to actually see what happens if you make interact the watch with a stranger and brush against her hand as you take the paper. A jolt coming from the watch hits both you and the woman, but you see the screen powering down from its previous red light, instead of flicking on. If the woman felt the static, she didn't show.

"Not at all, feel free to take a gander. Do you have the actual codes for the book or just the name? Just the names? I will see what I can find, if you can take a couple of minutes."

When she moves to a bookshelf you take a quick glance at the watch. No new word has appeared, but you can't see the BOSSY-LIBRARIAN thing anywhere. The doorbell rings again, then again. With a couple customers around you get back to doing your job, considering you are apparently alone in the building today, and momentarily forget about the watch.
