You should know better

Dave gave his friend a wry look "You know my browser history, Jake." Seems he really was in denial.

Jakes eyes widened as he whispered "No." then louder "NO! I DON'T WANT TO BE A GIRL!"

"A girl should be mute." Dave had difficulties hearing his mothers command over Jakes' frantic shouts "YOU CAN-Ack! Hhhhhhhg!" but a moment later Jakes hands flew to his throat as hoarse wheezing replaced his yells.

"That's better." Laura's comment caused Jakes head to snap around, panic clearly written on his feature as a fuitily tried to make a sound.

If he had hoped to find any pity there he was disappointed "You get the same choice in the matter that you gave me." she paused to think about it for a moment "well, not quite the same. Dave insisted that you get to keep you memories and personality. But every time I tell you what a woman should be your body will do it's best to comply. Case in point...." Jakes frantic head-shakes only added to the satisfaction in her voice "A girl should be female. Don't you think." As soon as she had finished the sentence, a ripple ran across Jakes body.

"Hmmm, that was less dramatic than I hoped." Dave sighed, when the changes finished a heartbeat later.

A stocky girl stood where Jake had been before, but overall she still looked very much like him, just slightly fuller around the hips and chest ( and sans beardstubble). The slightly ill-fitting clothes and the masculine cut of her dirty blond hair aside, she looked completely average, not ugly just ...average.

Jake meanwhile looked very uncomfortable as her eyes flickered between her protruding chest and her crotch. Her hands hovering a few inches away from her fly, Jake seemed to be caught between the desire to loosen the button to stop her jeans from digging into her wider hips and the fear of what she would find inside.

Dave drew on the power of the wishbone again. "When it is just us three around, the changes should be slow enough that we can fully appreciate them. Ten seconds to a minute depending on the complexity, sounds about right. In public they should be slow enough that casual observers don't notice." On impulse he also made sure the changes would feel slightly uncomfortable, never painful but enough that Jake would wish to get it over with sooner than later.

Laura didn't take her eyes of the squirming Jake, as she nodded her approval "I like the idea of savoring the moment. I’m sure Jake will appreciate the opportunity to brace himself too, because he'll go through a lot of changes today." she met Jakes eyes as his head shot up at the last statement "A girl should have long hair, for example." she added with a smile “A girl should have prettier nails, too. The chewed-off look isn’t very appealing.”

Jakes’ hands flexed reflexively at the last part, before he dropped his gaze to his hand. He flexed hand a few more times, trying to shake off the sensation of his nails slowly creeping towards his fingertips. Then his slowly lengthening hair caught his attention and Jake put his growing nails to good use trying to alleviate the itching on his scalp.

Dave and his mother watched in fascination as Jakes close-cropped hair spilled past his scratching fingers, settling into a mass of curls that hung slightly past his ears. Laura eyed the result critically before fishing her phone out of her pocket and typing a few words. When she caught Daves questioning glance, she shrugged “Just testing something.”

“Hey Jake.” The new girl looked up nervously at the sound of her name, then to the phone Laura held in his direction “A girl should have what is written here.” When Jake made no attempt to come closer Laura gave him an arched look “It won’t bite you. And I’m pretty sure you aren’t hard of hearing.”

The implied ‘yet’ was enough, for Jake to get Jake moving, nearly dropping the phone in his haste to read the message. Chipping away at Jakes health wasn’t what Dave had been going for, when he had given Laura control of his friends body. For a moment he was tempted to use the bone again to correct that oversight. But his mother had every right to be furious, so he tabled the idea until she really crossed a line.

While Dave had been dealing with the unintended consequences of his ideas, Jakes hair had straightened itself out accompanied by another bout of furious scratching, much to Lauras satisfaction, and now hung down to his neck.

As she took her smartphone back she told Jake “I hope you brought yours. Because you will need it for the next part. You see, the real lesson begins I’d like to see what I have to work with.

So you will treat Dave just like you think an ideal girlfriend should treat her lover, for the next day or two ” Dave gave his new girlfriend a slight smile and a shrug when she looked to him, eyes pleading for him to intervene

“Don’t just do it for me. Do it for Dave.” And as soon as Laura said it, Jake gave a resigned sigh, and put on a weak smile.

“The thing is…. ” Laura continued “…I am pretty sure your ideal girlfriend would want to look her best for her boyfriend. So why don’t you take some of your cash and drive to the mall to find something that would be more your taste. A girl should fill out anything she tries on in a way the Jake of yesterday would appreciate. ”

Jake kept standing where he was for a few more moments, before walking over to the duffel back with his cash. Halfway through the room the new girl stopped, and gave Dave a nervous glance over her shoulder and shot him a nervous smile before walking the rest of the way with her hips swinging like a pendulum.

Laura rewarded the clumsy attempt at a sashay with a bemused chuckle “You might want to spend some time practicing in front of a mirror before you come back, Mata Hari. Speaking off, we can’t have your car standing around in our front yard, so just park it at some secluded spot and come home by bus or write me a message to pick you up. ”

Jake just nodded glumly at the last part. While Laura talked, he had bent down at the hip to retrieve a few bundles of cash, making sure Dave got a good view of the way his expanded buttocks nearly caused his jeans to split apart at the motion.

Cash in hand Jake made a beeline for the door, before Lauras voice stopped him again “One more thing. A girl should fit the descriptions sent from Jakes phone. Because there are a few things clothes won’t fix. And one of the messages will return your voice to you, so I’d read them if I was in your place.” She gave him a cheerful wave “Off you go, young lady.”

With Jake gone, Dave soon went back to his room. There were a few other people who could use a change in attitude - his manager at work for example - and it probably said something about Dave that he was organizing his plans in an Excel-sheet on his PC. His thoughts had a tendency to drift off to Jake, what he knew about his taste in women and what this might mean for the next few days. But he still had made good progress on his excel sheet, by the time a knock at his door demanded his attention.

His mother was pretty much the only person who bothered to knock so he just called “Come in.” without bothering to look up as he finished typing up his current sentence.

He heard the door open and close, but when he turned around a young woman that was definitely not Laura was standing there. A blush coloring her features as she stood there leaning slightly forward and clasping her hands in front of her waist to push out her cleavage.

It took Dave a full four seconds before the gears in his head started turning again “Jake?! Uhhh…wow. Just wow.”
