You prepare.

You know that Ciri will come through the village soon and you want to attempt to travel with her but if she is to let you do that you'll have to be prepared.

All of that seems to be in order so you start gathering provisions. There's still a lot of dried meat left from the aforementioned bear so you pack a lot of bear-jerky and a bunch of flatbread.

Now comes the part of your preparation that could be considered cheating. You gather ingredients for healing potions and antidotes for potions, buy what you can't find and have the local smith make a quiver of arrows with silver arrowheads for you. He thinks you're arrogant and decadent for using silver to make arrows but you know better, silver does a lot more damage against monsters then iron after all.

With everything prepared you go out to hunt as little test to see how well your skills serve you in this new world, you plan to return before nightfall so you can be well rested when you meet Ciri.
