You never leave your office.

It was honestly a last-minute flip of the coin in your head whether you should lead to her Grandfather's office or follow her. On the one hand, you were trying to prove her claim wrong, and thought that the sooner she was in his office, the sooner she'd be out of the company. However, you were unsure which side he would actually take, and figured neither of you were in any rush to be proven wrong. Therefore, you decided to be a gentleman, which meant "Ladies first".

Right now, however, you are regretting that decision, as she is still standing where she'd been when you opened the office door.

"Why aren't you on your way to Grand-Dad, Meghan?" you finally ask her.

"Because I lied," she suddenly admits.

"I thought so," you tell her, smirking and chuckling.

"I still don't think he'd let me get fired," she adds. "But it's got nothing to do with how much he loves me. It has to do with the other thing I said... About how I want, but don't really need this job."

As sure as you were she should be gone, that's how curious this remark makes you.

"What does that have to do with him?!" you ask, truly curious.

"He gave me a job in the company so I would quit my OTHER job... I... I was earning money at The Fox Hunt," she explains.

You furrow your brow. She ended the sentence by naming a place you're well-aware of, and equally-aware that most of their employees are females that are great-looking but not all that intelligent, which you have learned in this office describes Megan.

"You probably were better-suited for that job," you tell her honestly since it's only the two of you, "and made more money, too."

"True on both counts," she replies. "But my Grandfather didn't want me working there."

"I could understand that," you tell her, still trading facts with her. "But I now don't understand what that has to do with me."

"Let me stay at my desk," she begins explaining. "You can even have another intern work alongside me, since we don't have to pay them anyway! Just don't mention this to my Grandfather!"

"I've kept my mouth shut for too long!" you state confidently.

"I think I could convince you otherwise," she says, reaching out to run a finger down the center of your chest. "YOU stay in YOUR office, and open the Personnel Directory. Meet me at the address you find for me there tonight, and I'll show you the job I had before this one."
