Chapter 31 by AlphaSpiritNY AlphaSpiritNY

All set?

You need to let her get a good dose, first

You don't want to just jump in there. Erin's instructions were clear: this needs to be a hellacious experience for Sister Mary, and the aphrodisiacs in her undies and the destabilizing incense in the burner all need time to catalyze and take effect.

The air outside of the chapel is cool and this part of campus is almost deserted. All the academic buildings are shut until morning, and there's only the older Arts and Sciences library nearby: almost as deserted as the chapel.

You rendezvous with your two guys. It's highly doubtful anyone will come to Confession on a Wednesday night, or ever, but you need to make sure. Your two compatriots gesture meaningfully as you approach them, repositioning your backpack as you do so.

"Okay, boys, let's wait maybe 10 or 15 before it's go time." In fact, Confession won't officially begin for another 10, and you don't want Sister Mary out of her booth when you enter. "Just let me..."

You set about on your phone to double check the feed from the audio and video. Both are coming in clear: the confession booth is tiny, but the wide angle 'fish eye' style lens captures the entire portion of the booth where Sister Mary will eventually sit. You can hear her humming as she sets about to work lighting the incense: not a hymnal, oddly enough, but a pop song.

"Okay, let's review," you don't want to make this long out in public with your guys. "Louie, you're on perimeter. Anybody look like they're going toward the chapel, you hit us both up." You have a smartwatch set up to vibrate specifically for incoming messages or calls from your boys. "Especially any fuzz."

Louie nods. You continue, "And Huey, nobody in the building, right? If by some chance there's a Jesus freak looking to get their redemption on, the story is-"

"Pipes broke, chapel closed." Huey isn't smart, but he's reliable.

You dismiss your crew with a nod. There's still a few minutes to kill, and you almost want to hit up Erin to let her know what you're up to. Then again, suspicious messages right before committing a crime are generally not to be sent to the boss before a job...

What do you do in the meantime?
