You managed to fix it!

You got to work, crouching down under the sink and assessing the situation. The pipe wasn’t in great shape, and it took some time to figure out what was causing the leak. You fiddled with the tools, trying to tighten and adjust various parts, getting more comfortable with the task as you went along.

Two hours later, you finally managed to stop the leak. You felt a wave of relief wash over you, but so did something else—the water that had splashed and spilled during the process. You were completely drenched.

Mrs. Geoff came back into the kitchen just as you were finishing up, and she burst into laughter when she saw the state you were in. "Oh my goodness, Alex! You look like you’ve been in a water fight!"

You couldn’t help but laugh along, even though you felt a little embarrassed. "Yeah, it got a bit messy."

"Well, you did a fantastic job," she said, still chuckling. "Thank you so much. Now, let’s see about getting you out of those wet clothes. How about I get you something to wear? Would you prefer one of my husband’s old clothes or… a dress?"
