You make it home safely

The two of you make small talk as you make your way back home. You don't dare talk about the events at Alana's house, so you talk about your lives prior to the Plague. You tell Todd about your husband and how you were planning to start a family. Todd tells you a little about his college career that was derailed by the end of the world, but he mostly tells you about his high school years. Almost all of his stories mention Alana. He briefly talks about a boyfriend that Alana had, but the way he tells his stories makes it seem as if he was dating her. You can't help but chuckle at this. 'Maybe love was one of the few things to survive the apocalypse,' you think.

Before long you arrive at the front of your home. You enter the house and point out the room that Alana is in to Todd. He marches into the room and before Alana has a chance to react, he grabs either side of her face and kisses her passionately. Alana is shocked at first, but she quickly relaxes and kisses Todd back. After several seconds, they break off the kiss.

"Alana, I love you. I thought I lost you, and then Sarah told me you were hurt and I realized that I had to tell you how I felt because who knows what could happen nowadays. I almost made a huge mistake, but it just made me realize just how much I care about you. I love you, Alana."

Alana seemed overwhelmed by Todd's confession, so you decided it was best to leave them alone. You leave the room and go into your kitchen.
