You hesitate

Listening to the prince plead you think. His is a prince, you could ransom him or make him cooperate in the surrender of his kingdom. With you and your mother distracted by his words, however, Prince Lir managed to break free and draw his sword.

As he swings at your prone mother you intercept so the swing catches on the handle of your hammer. Lir turns his focus on you. You go to trip him with your tail as your mother claws his armour from behind. As her claws rip the straps that hold his breastplate on by his side. He swings down with his sword

As the princes' breastplate and axe clatter to the ground, you feel immense pain.

"AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!" you cry as Prince Lir slices off most of your tail!

FILLED WITH BLIND RAGE YOU TAKE SEVERAL SWINGS AT THE PRINCE. The first nocks his blade from his hand crusing his right hand. The second nocks him off his feet with a mighty swing of the hammer to his knees. As he lies helpless on the ground you use your wings to leap into the air and bring your hammer down onto his helmeted skull crushing it.

The prince is dead but you are badly wounded.
