You hear a noise

Suddenly, you hear a noise from the living room. In the dead silence of the house, any noise is audible. You wrinkle your brow, thinking, and realise that you heard a footfall. Someone else must be here.

As silently as you can, you sneak towards your living room. You peak around the doorframe, and see a sillhouette in the middle of the room. As you thought - you have a thief. You flick on the lights, and the thief stumbles away, covering their eyes.
