You have already made the decision

You don't even dwell on it too much. The waitress is currently trying to gather the two menus from your table, so you take the initiative and reach for Samantha's carte, brushing against her hand in the process.

"Oh, thank you!" the waitress says as she grabs both papers from your hand without waiting. You feel the watch blip twice in a row, meaning you have gathered something from her too. You really need to be careful with this thing in public.

Not to act too distracted by Samantha's talk about having found an interesting arts and craft blog, you only glance down at the screen for a moment. Enough to see PASSIONATE and WAITRESS.

Well, at least you have a job for her. You quickly glance at the staff of this diner. You really don't want her to work here though. Would the trait give her the position at this establishment? Or would it just make her a waitress, and given that this was the closest location would she default to this place?

This would be a test worth making in the future. Wait until the night was done, and give her the waitress trait at another time to see what would happen. For now you don't want to make her loose her passion. You know you can explore her modified behavior for half an hour while the traits are mixing.

You also don't want to make her BOOKISH. You like this new version of her a lot better. You glance at your other traits, and the most harmless seem to be ATHLETIC.

Trying to act stealthy, you manovrate the controls of the watch to start mixing PASSIONATE and ATHLETIC, the thirty minutes countdown starting to tick down.

You were droning off Samantha's talk, so it takes a moment to notice that she had ended her speech and she is patiently looking at you, a smile on her face.

You seize the moment to take back some control of the conversation with a seemingly harmless question.

"So, Sam... why haven't you found a job yet?"

"I mean, I tried. I've been fired. I have some pills prescribed because I space out a lot or just get distracted. My parents still help me and give me an allowance, so I don't really want to be doing something boring like serving tables or anything. Expecially when there are so many things I love do-" She clears her throat.

You notice that her eyes have already lost a bit of her spark, and her hairdo is slightly more disheveled.

"I mean, I find ways to pass the time anyway. Plus I don't really know what I would wanna do..."

As you see her mentally change in real time, you are instead thinking of her ADHD. Was it there when she worked at the library, only you didn't notice? Could making her lose her job have worsen her state? Could you remove it, somehow?

The watch was locked on the countdown. It would be something to explore later during the evening.
