You go get a drink (new encounter).
You're thirsty after all that work. You decide to go get yourself an ale.
Two taverns spring to mind. The first is patronised by the city's soldiers. It's clean and quiet and there's often not many customers this time of day. The second is a rough-and-tumble place in the shadier parts of town. It's a haunt of petty criminals and lowlives, and there's always something interesting going on there.
