You freeze

Your first thought is to duck, but that would get your head into the line of sight. Your second thought is to strafe back, but that could also have its dangers, because someone might accidentally shoot you. And as you keep thinking, and you just stand there... One of the guard lands a shot at the center of your back.

“MMMMMMM!!!” you find yourself on the ground, gritting your teeth from the shock. YOU GOT SHOT. YOU JUST GOT SHOT. You stay motionless from the shock,recognizing that the shots cease, as one of the two groups wins, and a couple people pass by you. Then there is silence.

You don’t feel pain, but you are also in shock. Instinctively, you want to move your hands to the wound. And you are successful. Which is very strange thing to happen. What the fuck? Then you remember what you are locked in is ruanite. The worlds toughest material, used to keep slaves in bondage for decades. So no, the plasma gun did not shoot through the ruanite. Instead, it shot in it, blasting away the straps holding your hands behind your back, then it simply ceased, as the material kept absorbing it. And you almost get another shock just by realizing this.

Immediately, you move your wrapped up hands to the center of your back, then grab the zipper, and pull it up towards your neck, until the straitjacket splits into two, and you are able to get out of the damned thing. After that, you remove your blindfold, grab the gun beside the dead guard that you just happen to see, then all you have to do is to unzip your boots, and you are good to go.

You reckon if the pirates managed to get here, they either landed on the roof - which you doubt, as it would render them easy pickings for the local authorities -, or they hid their ships in the forest, and used some sort of plasma tech to drill their way here. Now you could try to guess the most logical point they could emerge from, but the point of these attacks is to choose a spot people wouldn’t be able to guess, so you wouldn’t get very far with that trail of thought. You conclude the best option is to choose a path randomly, and hope for the best while you are at it.
