Where to next?
You find a gun store.
Looking around a bit more you decide it is time to find a weapon to defend yourself. Sadly all of the swords, maces, axes and pole arms are just so big and unwieldy. You see some little daggers and a bow or two that seems cool, but nothing really screams out at you. Then you see something you can't believe you didn't think of at first. Looking into a shop you see what you are pretty sure are guns, and stroll in. As you go in the first thing you see is an old west style peacemaker, a small pile of what look like .45 lc bullets right next to it, looking at it you can also tell it is magic, and screams expensive. You drool a bit possibly, and move on. Finally a man looks up from working on what seems to be a lever action rifle and asks, “Can I get something for you?”
“Yes I would really like a gun, but I am not sure what I can afford. What do you have for say, under 800 silver or so?”
He puts down his tools and walks over to you. He is dressed like he strolled in here from the old west. His clothes are all very neat, including his wide brimmed cowboy hat. He has a pair of holsters at his waist with matching ivory handled pistols. “Well I'll tell ya what. The stuff out here is mainly magic high end stuff, that is mostly what people that walk in here want, flashy magic, cause they don't understand how powerful these are without magic. I get the feeling that isn't you, is it? Let me pull over the closed sign and we can go do some business.” He strolls over and pulls a large metal bar across the door bolting it shut. As you find yourself locked in, you are a tad nervous that you are about to be robbed, but as he simply walks past you and says, “Come now, let me show you what I got.” As he leads you back he calls back without looking, “You lookin for flintlock, cap n ball, or just bullets?”
Thinking it over you decide, “Well, I suppose I'd prefer bullets, but I am open for cap n ball also if the price is right.”
“800 silver you say. I am guessing you have a bit more, but that is a good starting point. I'll show you the ones I have with bullets first then we can go from there if you don't want any of 'em. Here we are. Have a seat.” The long hall lined with junk and parts finally comes to an end and opens into an obvious workshop. He pats a tall stool with his hand that sits in front of an oil stained green wooden plank table. Hopping up, you realize with a sly grin that you just flashed him your cunt and cross your legs, albeit a bit slowly. “Well then.” Is all he says, obviously not expecting that himself. He then walks over to a stack of wooden boxes and pulls out a few things setting them in front of you. “Here's what I have that fires self contained metal cartridge bullets. That works that is. I have a few other things I am working on, but that's not important I suppose.” First he plops down a very tiny over under double barrel derringer, roughly 3”long. “.44 rimfire, very nice, I think I have roughly 200 bullets on hand, can't be reloaded, but if ya save the brass I’ll give you a discount on ammo in the future.” Second he sets down a rather small frame snub nose revolver, “.32 cal, also rimfire, same deal, I think I got 400 bullets give or take. Not as powerful as the derringer but it holds 5 bullets and can kill a man sure enough, wouldn't use it on a monster though.” Third he sets down a larger revolver that looks just like the one upstairs but is jet black with ivory grips, “This one is 800 silver before ammo, so if you don't have any more it is to much, but I am sure it would make you happy. It is a .45, basically the same gun as upstairs, but not magic. Ammo can be reloaded if you want to carry the tools, or you can bring me the cases and I can do it for you. I have easily 500 bullets right now and twice that in parts. Other than these I have a cap n ball rifle or 6 shot revolver, I sell either plus enough powder and 50 bullets for 400 silver. Powder n bullets beyond that is basically 8 copper per shot, measured correctly that is.”
“How much for the other pistols?”
“Of course, the derringer 300 silver, the .32 revolver 500 silver. The rimfire ammo I sell by the 10 pack, for 5 silver. As for the .45 it's ammo I sell loaded in packs of 10 for 15 silver, if you bring me the brass I will load em for you for 1 silver each, or I can sell you the powder n bullet for you to reload, 5 copper each, well 10 for 5 silver that is.”
Looking it all over you figure you can afford any of the guns if you want. But that doesn't leave you much left for anything else, depending on which gun. Thinking it over, you are pretty sure you want a gun, but which one?
