You fall

You had intended to make a gallant leap, crashing down and wreaking havoc upon the frail creatures below.

Instead, stones slipped under your claws and sent you plummeting down.

Right in front of the caravan.

"Dragon!" One of the guards called out, a young man in shining steel plate. He didn't understand why all of his companions merely laughed.

"That's no dragon lad! Merely a drake. A clumsy one at that." A more mature knight informed him.

You barely heard this discussion as your body hurt from the fall. You'd had nothing but hard stone to break it and you had grossly overestimated your damage resistance.

"Oh. Well, it's blocking our path. What are we to do with it?" The young knight asked, embarrassed at his mistake. "Shall we slay it?"

"Look at that creature, lad! It's practically a woman! Would you raise your sword against a helpless damsel in the road?" The older knight asked.

"N-no, of course not!"

"The principle is the same here. Come on, help me get her into the wagon."

As the humans began to move you, the pain became too much and you passed out.
