Chapter 46 by Almax Almax

Where to search, where to search...?

You don't know where else you can look!

You do another quick check of your usual classrooms, but they're still empty. Okay, where should you look? How about the- no, that wouldn't be it. Ah....

A few more minutes go by of **** scrambling. Argh, you've looked all over, where the heck are they all? This is bad! So much time has passed, you've probably missed out on all of the learning already. Wandering in on so much stuff that looks dirty from an outside perspective has also been no fun, even if you know that the Warrior students must all have good explanations for why it's fine.

You should've just gone to your Room and taken the period off, instead of stressing out like this, you made a mistake. Now you're gonna be too anxious to do well in the classes that you do arrive on time for, and you're gonna fail the exams, and then you'll be without a job or a way to support yourself until-

"Debbie?"

"Ah!" You whip around in a karate stance, and see Cameron coming out of the bathroom.

"O-oh, sorry." Cameron says in response to your karate stance.

"Cameron!" You shout. "Where IS everybody?! What class do we have?!?"

"We're all in the forests around the school." Cameron says. "We were actually just wrapping it up when I left for the bathroom."

"Couldn't you have just gone in the forest?"

"....."

"Well, anyway, that's ridiculous! How is anybody supposed to find their way to class all the way out there?"

"W-we met at the front of the school, though."

You huff angrily. How were you supposed to know that? It makes sense to teach classes in the same sort of environment you'd be fighting in, but they should really let you know ahead of time.

Well, anyway, class is almost over now, so you should at least go apologise to the teacher for not being there. Coinpilfer University is very isolated from the rest of the city, which is why the bus ride is so long, but it does give them certain advantages like access to some really lush and beautiful greenery outside of the main building. Plus, the University would probably have to be a lot smaller to fit in the main part of Kokkinport city.

Cameron leads you towards where the rest of your classmates are, sitting in the grass.{if ArgentEnemy == True}{if CumSuccess == 0} On the way, you're able to relax a bit again, which suddenly reminds you -- the Sorority attacked you during lunch!! Did they attack Cameron too? They said that they would! You ask him that exact question, suddenly energised and rushing over your words.

"Cameron!" You shout. "Did you -- I was- did anything happen at lunch? With girls? Did girls do anything at lunch, and do the thing to you?"

He looks at you, embarrassed, then turns away.

"Uhhh.... yeah, a bit. It was really weird...."

"What happened?! Are you okay?!"

"Am- y-yeah, no, I'm fine, it was just...."

Cameron's face is really blushing, as you **** him to admit that he did have some girls flirt with him in the hallway and feel his biceps up during lunch. It made him really nervous. His face burns at the memory.{if CameronWood>0} W-well, that doesn't sound like it was dangerous, but.... th-those girls should keep their hands off!

You're a bit flustered at the story as well for some reason, and really mad at the Sorority girls who tried it on with him, but you can't quite think of why. It's almost like you're acting a bit possessive, but it's more like that you're just active protective for your friend.

.......

A-anyway, you quickly tell him that it was definitely the girls who sent you both that threatening letter earlier this week, and that he should stay well away from them and tell you if they try anything again. You'll smack them up.{else}

"O-oh." You say. That sounds a lot different to what happened to you, but that's probably a good thing, so you lower your energy level a bit. "Well, you know that weird letter we got, earlier this week?"

"The threatening one?"

"Yeah. It was probably them, so, be careful."

"O-oh. Okay. Thank you."{endif}

Cameron takes you the rest of the way to your classmates.{endif}{endif} They're actually not that far from the University at all -- you could probably have spotted them through the window if you looks through the right one.

Delilah and Jace are sitting together and chatting, while Lexi and Miranda are each doing their own separate thing.

"Hello!" You call out as you approach them all. "Don't worry guys, I'm here now! I'm alright, I was just a bit lost!"

Delilah looks up at you, then looks away again dismissively. Miranda and Jace are kind of doing their own things, but Lexi gets up to her feet with a big stretch and a smile.

"Oh, hey." She says, stretching out her back and arms. "Where were you? You missed Stealth class."

Stealth class?! Oh no, that sounds like it was useful! Now you're gonna be so much louder than everyone else...

You tell Lexi the story, then look around so you can apologise to the teacher. You frown when you can't spot them anywhere.

"Where's the professor?" You ask. Then your eyes widen, and lean in closer to whisper -- "Are they doing stealth?"

"She's just packing up some of the equipment. We can't be dismissed until the bell goes, but she's letting us have a rest out here in the nature for these last few minutes."

Oh. Okay. You were really impressed for a second.

Miranda's sitting on her own to angrily scribble diagrams in her notebook in the grass, so you just sit with Lexi and Cameron for now. Apparently she's mad at Lexi for making their shared dorm room messy again yesterday, and not promising to never do it again earlier in class. She also insisted on bringing her backpack and pencil case to Stealth class, which nobody else did.

The three of you chat while you wait for the teacher to get back, but not about anything particularly important. Lexi asks if you and Cameron want to hang out this evening, since she doesn't wanna go back to her dorm room until Miranda's forgiven her -- Cameron says he'd like to, but he's doing some errands for Professor Meddle tonight.

"Oh, I'll join you for 'em then!" Lexi offers. "Debbie, you should come too." She invites you.

You say that you might join them -- it'd be nice to de-stress a bit after that search you conducted. If you have a moment during your Free Time, and want to hang out and do nothing for a bit, it could be fun!

Anyway, the bell hasn't rung yet, and your professor isn't back for you to apologise to yet. So until one of those two things happen, you just keep on chatting!

Waiting for the teacher, waiting for the teacher....
