You demand answers

You approach Jereli in private to have your answers.

Lana: Master... Dooku told me things, I want answered.

Jereli: Certainly. I know there are things we should have told you long ago, but the council decided, it was for the best if they were hidden from you. Hidden from everybody except the masters.

Lana: Why didn't you tell me how high my midichlorian count was? I deserved to know the truth about myself!

Jereli: Lana, look... The galaxy is a difficult place to live in. We all make tough decisions... The council has decided you might have became more arrogant or power hungry, had you known the truth.

Lana: That wouldn't have changed me...! I would still be Lana Ordo, I would have followed your teachings the same way as I do now! The council didn't trust me...

Jereli: They trusted you, they were just afraid that...

Lana: That I'll surpass them and overthrow the whole bunch of old men? Because I believe that's what they would deserve!

Jereli: Calm down, nobody is overthrowing anybody! I knew you were strong enough to cope with the truth once it is revealed to you, but truth be told, I had hoped I would have been the one to tell you myself.

Lana: But you weren't the one! Can you imagine the conflict I had in me when I learned of it? And from Dooku...?! It could have turned out very differently and...!

Jereli: But it didn't! Because you are one of my best apprentices ever and I can't say how proud I am of you! You have shown great conviction, bravery, wisdom, you have the power to use the dark side but not to give in to it! This is a very rare feat, only the most exceptional Jedi have! I have already contacted the council about this, they are ready to give you an audience and openly answer any questions you have about anything to show how much they really trust you.

Lana: Good, I will have tons of questions and they aren't going to like them!

Jereli: Just keep it within the thresholds of the protocol and all will be well!

Lana: Protocol?! I'll be blasting through the door to the council chamber with a thermal detonator if they won't open it right away!

Jereli: Girl, you are really troubled by the news, aren't you? I wasn't expecting this level of outrage.

Lana: Of course, my while life was questioned! Everything I have been told in the last almost 15 years might have been a lie! How would you react to that?

Jereli: I understand your frustration, but I need you to think clearly of this. You will have time until we arrive back to Coruscant. Oh and one more lesson from your old master...

Lana (rolling her eyes): Can't wait to hear it...

Jereli: Dooku has given you a glimpse how to use **** lightning, but you are not a master of it yet. Let me teach you how to do it properly!

Lana: Oh, great, I'm in! I was expecting some boring ancient Jedi wisdom about how to preserve the purity of my soul or something...!

You spend the many hours long journey to Coruscant with training, to both of your surprise, you have very quickly learned both **** techniques! When you land in the temple, you and Jereli make your way straight to the council. Just as you told him, you burst inside with haste and start demanding answers as why you were kept in the dark for so long. The masters are shocked by your show of disrespect, they look at each other before Windu instructs you to remain quiet, so that they too may say something. You heed his words and wait impatiently to be answered, why you haven't been told about you potential.

Windu: The council had faced a phenomenon we have never heard of before. Master Qui-Gonn had just discovered the chosen one, Anakin Skywalker, whom, according to the prophecy, will bring balance to the ****. Soon afterwards, you were brought to the order and we have measured almost the same midichlorian count in your blood. Jedi with such **** sensitivity was unheard of, now we suddenly found ourselves with having two here with almost the same age.

Obi-Wan: Lana, you must understand that, it was done for the good of the order and the galaxy as a whole. There was nothing personal about the decision!

Lana: I imagine...!

Plo: Qui-Gonn wanted Anakin to be trained in the Special ****, so that he may be able to better understand the dark side and have a natural resistance to it by experiencing the constant lure of it throughout his training, just like you did. However, he was too old to be trained as a Jedi to begin with and we were afraid that, if we put him into the crossfire, we would just accelerate his fall. Therefore, we made the decision not to show him anything of the darkness the **** has within itself.

Windu: Then, you were presented to us, giving us a completely new challenge. A perfect aged girl with a huge potential for greatness. We were debating for days about what to do with the situation.

Yoda: Questioning the prophecy, we were. Some suggested, misunderstanding it, we had been.

Obi-Wan: After we couldn't fulfill Qui-Gonn's wish about Anakin and the Special ****, we decided to send you there instead. That way, we will have the chosen one as a pure Jedi, only knowing of the light, and a...

Lana (angrily): And a replacement, should he fail...? That's what I am?! A replacement?! A fail safe?!

Plo: Keep calm Lana, nobody thought of you as a replacement. Skywalker was told of his potential, we couldn't keep the prophecy's words hidden from him. But those days marked the rising problem of countless Jedi going to arrogant about themselves. We couldn't risk both of you being exposed to such challenges.

Lana: So you were lying to me instead! Raising me to be a possible counterbalance to Anakin, should your teachings fail...!

Windo: Watch your tone, young one!

Jereli: Leave her be Windu, she has every right to be angry! Lana, you weren't a counterbalance! The council was just indecisive of how to proceed. We thought the best way was to divide the responsibility, Anakin was told of his powers but not taught about the dark side, while you were not told the truth but you received a dark side training too. You were both denied something but got something in return.

Lana: What are you, merchants?! Bubbling about trading training for truth! Who knows what else I haven't been told! Maybe tomorrow I'll find out I am a descendant of Revan or an ancient Sith Emperor! Maybe I am the granddaughter of Master Yoda!

Windu (standing up from his chair angrily): That's enough insults young one, I am taking to out of here!

Aayla: Master Windu, please, sit back down! What kind of example are you showing to her?! You too had been a Special **** member, but you swore not to give in to your emotions ever again, that was the condition of joining this council, remember? Don't break your oath!

Windu (sitting down): Forgive me masters. But the young one has betrayed of our hospitality of sincerity with her.

Yoda (sadly shaking his head): Sincere with you, Lana now, the council is. Listen to our words you should. Told you everything, we did.

Plo: We apologize for everything that has happened. Should we be of any further assistance, please, turn to us with trust. We have trusted you, don't forget that. Giving you the power to wield the dark side of the **** should prove it, we just didn't want to give you so much responsibility that even a master couldn't handle well. We ask you only to understand and acknowledge these facts.

Lana (calming down): Sorry masters, I was a bit carried away earlier... I have overreacted it, it was hard to cope with the facts I have been told... I beg your pardon for what I have just said earlier.

Obi-Wan: You have been able to resist the taint of the dark side recently. That is no small feat Lana, all of the council is proud of you and your master's teachings!

Jereli: The credit goes to her and not to me! Had I been a good enough master, we would have brought Dooku back...

Yoda: Still not lost, he is! Bringing him back, one day, we will!

Aayla: Take some rest Lana, it will do you good! You have experienced much in the last few days!

Lana: Thank you, I will. Thank you for telling me the truth masters! May the **** be with you!

Council: May the **** be with you!

You leave and return to your room and take a rest.

Plo: She accepted the truth better than we expected.

Aayla: Yes, I told you she was tough, she knows what's the right path and nothing can alter her course!

Windu: If you are calling that display "better than we expected", I am truly curious what you expected!

Ki-Adi-Mundi: We were expecting some chairs being thrown out of the windows at least, like the time you were told that your midichlorian count was the second highest after Master Yoda! The truth was hidden from you too and you had a worse reaction! I still have the back ache from when you threw a datapad at my back as you were outraged, that you were not allowed to use the dark side any more! You didn't want to be a master back then! We needed four masters to hold you down until you calmed down!

Yoda: Originating from that time, half my gray hairs are!

Windu: Oh well... Yes... THAT was certainly... worse... Consider my previous question answered! I guess we should go to the next point on our list of today's debates...!
