Chapter 19 by TheTruePenguin TheTruePenguin

Is that all you and Piper do today?

You decide to help her deliver some food

"Here you go Pastor." You said, carrying two boxes of leftover food from Quake. It was later in the day, and Piper had finally released you, though only because she had to go to work.

She asked you if you'd mind helping her deliver some food later since she usually brought leftovers to the local church for the shelter, you, of course, had accepted which is how you found yourself unloading box after box of spare food for the church.

"Thanks so much for your help Leo, I asked Phoebe earlier to help, but honestly I didn't expect there to be this much food leftover, I wonder if the customers didn't like it? Anyways, I don't know what we would've done without your help." Piper said, a soft smile on her face.

"Say no more, it's the least I could do since you've been so accommodating with my constantly being in your house, displacing your routine." You assured the middle sister.

"And if your customers can't appreciate a decent meal, they don't deserve it anyways. So look on the bright side, you can afford to give more back to the community now." You added which widened Piper's smile into a visible grin.

"Well, I think that's all the food you had Piper." Phoebe said as the pastor of the church came out, calling to Piper who walked over, leaving you and Phoebe standing together. "We're going to the store to get some gum, you guys want anything?" Phoebe asked, and receiving two 'no's, began dragging you with her.

"So I meant to mention it to you earlier when Piper was talking about me accepting drinks from a bunch of guys at Quake." Phoebe started only to be cut off by a short peck on her lips.

"Honestly Phoebe, I don't mind, any drink you feel comfortable accepting I'm fine with it, I know w you aren't like that, I trust you." You assured your girlfriend who let out a muffled sigh.

"Yeah but you see, earlier I was at Quake and this guy approached me, he said he was a photographer and wanted to know if I would like to model for him, and I was thinking maybe I could ask for some extras for more personal uses." Phebe hinted as you deciding to tease her, shrugging your shoulders.

"That's a bit narcissistic, but if that's what gets you off, then go ahead." You answered as Phoebe blushed, lightly swatting your chest.

"Not for me, for you!" She hissed as you put another quick kiss on her lips.

"I don't really care about model photos of you, I can just look at, and touch, the real thing, besides the point that if I wanted anything remotely gravure, that's means this guy will see you like that too." You point out as Phoebe quietly contemplates your answer.

"I mean I get what you're saying, but I don't think he'd see me that way, you know how photographers are, he's probably gay." Phoebe replied and before you could retort, you both heard a soft crying as you passed an elderly couple.

"It doesn't feel right, we should spend it on the grandchildren's' birthday coming up." The woman said, with the man wrapping her in a soft hug.

"I know, but it's a ten-million dollar jackpot, maybe this will be our lucky day, otherwise we're going to lose the house." He replied as you and Phoebe paused.

"I'd like to buy a lottery ticket please." You told the cashier who looked at you with disinterest.

"Sure thing, what numbers?" He asked and you glanced at Phoebe, who after a moment's pause touched the ticket, seeming to get this far off look before come back to consciousness.

"4, 16, 19, 30, 32, and 40." Phoebe said, the cashier scribbling something down before passing you the ticket as you walked away, leaving Phoebe alone at the checkout.

"Here you go sir." You said, holding the ticket out to the elderly man who looked at you in confusion.

"I don't understand." He said, not yet reaching to take the offered golden ticket.

"Think of it like investing karma, I can only hope me and my girlfriend look as in love as you two do when we get to be your age." You said, and before the elderly man could reply, you pressed the ticket into his hand, looping your arm around Phoebe's when she walked passed as you made your way back to the church.

Behind you you heard the man yell after you, "Hey wait a minute, you dropped your money, you dropped a hundred dollars." But you didn't wait, you didn't even look back.

"God loveth a cheerful giver"
