Chapter 18 by Snorlax Snorlax

You could lock me up...

You walk beside Kristen in the warm evening air, the bags of drinks swinging lightly in your hand. After a few seconds of comfortable silence, you decide to test the mood a little.

“Well,” you say with a smirk, “I guess I’m kind of a captive audience right now. Stranded in a small town with nowhere else to go. You and your friends could technically lock me up in that cabin and no one would even know I was here.”

Kristen’s head snaps toward you, eyes wide for a split second before she bursts out laughing. Her cheeks flush bright pink and she covers her mouth with one hand, but you can see the way her eyes sparkle with something more than just amusement.

“Oh my god,” she says, still giggling. “You did not just say that.”

She bumps her shoulder lightly against yours as you walk, clearly flustered but not upset. If anything, she seems even more energized.

You let the joke hang for a moment, then shift the conversation.

“On a serious note though… your aunt. She’s cool with you using the cabin? What about the noise? Three girls drinking and being loud probably isn’t the quietest thing in the world.”

Kristen’s expression softens a little as she answers.

“She’s pretty chill about it,” she says. “She knows we go there sometimes. As long as we don’t trash the place or stay up screaming until 3am on weeknights, she doesn’t really care. She’s usually asleep by ten anyway, and the cabin’s far enough behind the house that the sound doesn’t carry much.” She glances at you sideways. “We’ve had a couple of louder nights and she’s never said anything.”

You nod, then decide to push the flirtation a little further.

“Well,” you say, voice dropping slightly, “I’m hoping the night gets interesting anyway. Noise or not.”

Kristen’s blush deepens again. She doesn’t answer right away, but you catch the way she bites her lower lip and the quick glance she steals at your mouth before looking forward again. Her hips sway a little more noticeably as she walks, the jeans hugging her thick curves with every step.

Up ahead, the cabin comes into view more clearly. Warm light glows through the windows, and you can already hear faint music and two female voices talking and laughing inside.

Kristen slows down as you both reach the short path leading to the front door. She turns to face you, suddenly looking a little nervous again, but excited too.

“Okay,” she says quietly. “This is it. Ready?”
