Chapter 5 by Diamondqueen666 Diamondqueen666

You can focus on a sense

While it is important to represent all five senses throughout your story, some characters can have, in a way, a favorite sense.

For some, visuals are primordials. Others have a keen interest towards sounds, or will focus on subtle touch and slight changes in temperature. And others, like me, find that smell plays an integral part of sex and attraction.

In a dual perspective story, different focus on different senses also helps flesh out the character and give different feels to the chapters of each POV character. One character could focus slightly more on smell (maybe they are a cook, or they have an especially keen or sensitive nose, or maybe they just have a lot of smell-related fetishes) while the other would focus slightly more on sound (maybe they are a musician, or have pitch perfect hearing, or they have a thing for some people’s voice).
