Chapter 4
by LunaCee
What does your search bring you upon first?
You can't believe your eyes...
"Oh, my...!"
You jump, clutching your staff defensively as you take a step back, glaring in the direction of the soft voice. Into the light steps a beautiful woman dressed in traditional far eastern robes, long black hair pinned up in a low bun against her neck. Her dark eyes glint in the glow of your staff, reflecting the light as she looks you over. Her features are stunningly and alluringly feral.
"Who are you?" you demand, managing to prevent your voice from shaking. "What are you doing here? This place is dangerous." She simply laughs softly, continuing towards you at a leisurely pace, not angling straight towards you but rather to stand between you and the continuation of the tunnel. You blink, finding the sound almost distracting, almost making you forget why you are on the defensive. You notice that she almost seems to be wearing something beneath her dress at her waist, making a larger bump beyond her rear. Perhaps it had something to do with the oddly shimmering golden fur sticking out from under the hem of her robes.
"You need not worry so much, dear," she speaks, smiling coyly in your direction. You blink. That voice, smooth as silk and sweet as honey, seems to penetrate your brain, to delve into your soul. You feel something tug at you on multiple planes, barely registering that the source must be the infiltrating darkness within you. "Anyone who could survive the fall you did can easily fend for himself down here." Fall? What fall? "You must be someone incredibly special," she continues, moving towards you as she reaches out towards your chest. She stops uncomfortably close, her body brushing yours, and walks two fingers up your chest to your neckline slowly. "Why don't you introduce yourself, handsome?" You clear your throat nervously, letting down your guard.
"Liam... Liam Isaacson..."
"Mm..." she purrs, leaning against you lightly. "What a strong name. So sexy, it alone could sweep a girl off her feet." A part of your mind screams about distrusting her flattery, but that voice is insignificant compared to how she is entrancing your attention. "You look like you've been through so much; you must have some fascinating stories to tell." You open your mouth with the intention to respond, but nothing comes out. She giggles alluringly, taking hold of your hand. "Come. Have a rest, and I shall make you some tea. It is a tradition where I am from, after all. I promise, all your worries will fade away."
With that, she guides you into the darkness from which she came, your staff now revealing the obscured side path. It is a tight tunnel seemingly excavated into the wall, complete with various twists and turns. At the end, you are able to extinguish your spell, she leading you into a surprisingly beautiful room (considering the lead-up) lit delicately with an array of paper lanterns. Like her attire, the room has a distinctive far eastern style to its architecture. In one corner sits a small bed, in another what appears to be a makeshift kitchen. In the center is a small, low table with two cushions set beside it for seating. This is where she leads you, settling you onto one of the cushions with an almost hypnotic smile, slowly releasing you as she almost seems to glide over to the kitchen area. She hums a soft tune as she begins to prepare the tea, you watching on absently. What you fail to notice is the seemingly independent movement of the fur from the rest of her robes.
Okay. Something's definitely up. Do you notice before it's too late?
