You call Mae

You’re in a panic at Kim’s latest demand. She’s being totally unreasonable about this. How can you make a video today that is good enough to upload?

Who can you get to help who would agree to it and who you can trust? Carrie is too busy and Jane will be working. You think Antoine might know someone or have an idea, but you don’t know what direction that video would end up going.

Mae might be the answer you think. You shoot her a quick text.

You: Hey Mae, what are you up to today? Are you busy?

You fret for a couple of minutes until you get a text back.

Mae: I’ve got a couple of classes, but nothing else until the evening. What’s up? You got another club for us to go to?

You: I need a favour, but it’s a bit out there. I’d be asking a lot.

Mae: Go for it. Ask away. You know me I’m up for anything.

You: Can I call you?

Mae: Sure. I’ll step somewhere private.

You give Mae a minute or two and then call her. You talk her through Kim’s demands. She’s curious about how you got into this situation so you tell her about jerking off on WhatsApp and the Zoom meeting.

“You are a very naughty boy,” says Mae. “But I’ve a thought. Give me twenty minutes and I’ll get back to you with a plan. Ok?”

“Sure,” you say. “Thanks so much.”

“Don’t say thank you until you hear the plan!” she says as she hangs up.
