Chapter 20
by menoetes
What happens next?
You awaken and have a choice to make...
You awaken to a sense of softness and find that you are still lying in the clearing, your head cradled warmly against a soft full bosom.
Looking up you see that it is the darker harpy sister, holding your head against her with a soft look of loving adoration that seemed almost out of place on that inhumanly beautiful face. The sun had risen above the trees now and beside you the fires last embers smolder fitfully. You sit up slowly and look about.
“You have only slept an hour or two, my Master” says the gorgeous creature beside you as though reading your mind. “My sister and your… servant have been discussing the plan for today’s journey through the forest.”
To your right Eisheth is talking quietly but heatedly with the auburn-haired harpy who stood glorious naked and pale in the morning light with only her tattered mantle of feathers about her pale perfect shoulders. The harpy seemed to be trying to assure the succubus of something but Eisheth looked unconvinced.
A cool touch on your thigh brings your attention back to the darker skinned harpy as she begins nuzzling gently at your neck. Your body tingles but your mind snaps back to business quickly. Names… you didn’t have these infernal creatures true names! Until you had them you couldn’t be sure of their loyalty, unexplained magical cock or not.
“My name, Lord?” she looks taken aback when asked, as though you should know them already, “I am Tiella and my sister is Aumbra, we are of the line of legendary Aello ‘Storm Swift’.”
“Their names will not serve you as mine does Master.” It was Eisheth breaking away from her argument with the tall pale figure of the Harpy named Aumbra. “Though they are creatures of magic, they are both born of this physical plane and their poultry titles don’t hold any real sway over them.”
Her tone was scornful and you could feel the tension growing in the two winged sisters at her words.
“He does not need names to compel us, cousin.” Bridled Aumbra hotly, “We serve willingly and faithfully without any fear of deception or piteous soul-bargaining. Can you make the same fair claim?”
You can’t help but to notice the way that the eyes of all three beautiful creatures had a way of straying down to your waist and what lay below it as they argued and sniped cattishly at each other. It wasn’t long before you had heard enough…
“Peace women!” you sigh in exasperation climbing to your feet, “We still have far to go in this dangerous place and I’d like to be about it before old age takes me.”
They fall silent as commanded but you can see concerned looks passing between the two daughters or Iris and an unhappy expression marring Eisheths usually inhumanly perfect features.
“Well there-in lies the heart of our disagreement, Lord.” She states sullenly, “I am for holding to our chosen path into the foothills of the Iron Mountains to Hinders Gate, the main way of into the passages beneath the fastness of the peaks.”
“We believe you should first meet our grand-sire, Master” says Tiella in a tone of quiet submission. “She is old and cunning, and if there is a safer path into the ways beneath the Iron Mountains, she will know of it. Her nesting place is not far…”
Eisheth didn’t agree and let it be known in no uncertain terms.
“I do not need some shriveled up old harpy to tell me the way to the last Sanctum, whore!” she spat back at Tiella, “You would do well to remember who were the architects of its mighty formation and chief amongst the many builders…”
“For all the good it or you did them in the end!” snapped Aumbra in a shrill voice.
“Enough!” Your hand slices through the air between them, ending their argument as quickly as it had begun. “It seems that this is my decision to make, lest we be stuck here squabbling until night falls.”
You straighten up, arranging your travel stained grey robes as dignified as you can under the intent waiting stare of all three of your servants. You try to look more certain than you actually feel as you turn to face them.
“…and I have decided.”
