You awake.

You awake feeling weird. Part of it is that your head is pounding. Part of it is that there is a Latina cleaning woman with a running vacuum standing over you (Really, you wonder, you can’t turn that off?). Part of it is… weird. You groan. The cleaning lady looks at you without remorse. “Estupido gringo, levántate del piso,” she snaps at you. You’re not entirely sure what it means, or if it is real Spanish, but you get the drift.

“Show some sympathy, woman!” you declare, as you gather yourself off the floor. To your surprise, she blushes and turns off the vacuum. “Lo siento. Do you need help?”

Amazed at the quick turnaround, you decline the help, pack your stuff, and leave.
