"Before we get onto that, Julia, it just occurred to me to wonder why you still carry an implement?"

"Surely you know the answer: every year I give the graduating class the same talk about how turning thirty doesn't magically make them mature enough to no longer need guidance and spanking from men. I can hardly encourage them to keep carrying implements after their thirtieth birthday if I don't do so myself, can I?"

"So how long do you plan to carry on?"

"Until I no longer need disciplining!"

"And how long will that be?"

"I think, if I go two years without getting spanked, then I'm probably mature enough to make my own decisions."

"And how long has it been?"

"Just over two months," she replies with a wry smile. "Actually, if I were in a committed relationship, I'd probably give up the cane right now and just let him discipline me when I need it."
