You and Julie go to the Crater, but it's not open yet

"Let's drop off the keys and go," you tell Julie. "How about...the Crater?"

"How the mighty have fallen," Julie says. "The college dyke bar? Let's go!"

"I might as well own up," you say.

"Haha, I better keep my eye on you before some baby dyke like Sarah wants you to play mommy," Julie says. "Because I think you would be too perfect."

She points to the chunky watch on her wrist, shrugs, and points to the hours sign taped on the vertical window. Today, on a weeknight, not a Friday or Saturday, The Crater is still an hour from opening.

Julie sighs, with a thrumming undertone. "I don't know, do you want to wait?" She squeezes your hand.

You laugh. "I suppose it depends how we want to wait." You squeeze back. "Do you think we could scandalize her enough to get her to let us in?"

"Probably not," Julie says. "But I wouldn't mind trying, if you're not afraid of outing yourself even further if it all goes sideways."

"Well, I'll have to think about that," you say. "It does seem a little rash. We could go back and, ah, wait in the car. Like you and Cara? Unless there's somewhere else the regulars hang out until The Crater opens."

"That's a thought," Julie says. "Parking. As to the regulars, I guess they might be in the Rainbow Center Coffeehouse or back behind the Crater, hanging out and smoking."
