You Wait For Katara To Wake Up

You quickly brought the young woman into your house and laid her down on your couch. Her body laid limp on the couch, she was completely and utterly ****. You let out a little sigh and sat her up, carefully removing her coat, you folded it and put it behind her head before moving to take a closer look at her arm. It didn't seem to be a severe burn but it must have hurt like hell to knock her out. After a moment of though you went to you bathroom grabbing some Aloe Vera and a set of bandages out of your first aid kit. Despite not really knowing what you were doing, you did your best to treat her arm before wrapping it up.

After that you could do nothing but wait, you were a bit surprised that she was so human like but you figured that what premium price would get you out of a robot. You walked over to your arm chair and took a seat. Nearly two hours past before you heard a little groan from her as she finally began to stir. You sat up in your chair and waited a moment letting her wake up in her own time. Her eyes flickered open and she winced while sitting up, she looked around the house very confused before spotting you, "W-Where am I?" She asked clearly in some fear,

"Just take it easy, you're safe. You're in my house, I got rid of the soldiers." You said trying to ease her,

"No, I mean, where am I?" She asked once more while bringing her legs to her chest, "I woke up a day ago and couldn't recognize a thing. I've never seen anything like this, the houses, the-the world is just different." She explained with a slight tremble,

You sat in your chair silent for a moment, it hadn't occurred to you that she would point out the difference between the two worlds. As you thought it over, she lived in a simple Eskimo village, she doesn't know about anything in this world. You tried to think of what to say but in the end all you could come up with was, "This is my house, we're in New York."

She stared at you and after a minute shook her head, "I don't...I don't understand. I've never heard of this place before. How far am I from the southern water tribe?"

"Pretty far." You replied, merely guessing that the closest place that would be like that would be the south pole. "What happened to you out there?"

"What do you mean?" Katara asked looking over to you finally,

"I mean you were being chased by those two men." You replied, "I imagine something must have happened."

"Do you...don't you know about the fire nation here? They are attacking the other nations, they are trying to take over, anyone who's a threat or doesn't bow down is killed." She said bitterly while lowering her head again, "That's why I ran from them."

"Oh, I-I didn't know." You replied before letting a silence fall between the both of you. "So, I-uh," You said causing her to look over to you once more, "I treated your arm, does it feel any better?"

She peered over to her upper right arm and let out a small smile, "It does actually, thank you."

"Good, I figure it's the least I could do since you saved me twice back there." You said returning with a grin,

She let out a little half laugh, "You didn't owe me anything, you probably saved me too." Katara then slowly let out an exhale, "What am I gonna do, I have no idea where I am and Fire Nation soldiers are all over. This happened on my first day, I could be dead by the end of the week."

"Well you could stay here if you want. At least until you get things figured out." You said rather simply,

Katara's eyes perked up a bit at that, "I...I mean-you wouldn't mind? It wouldn't be long, I'd just need enough time to chart my way back to my tribe." She said looking at you seemingly excited,

"Of course that's fine, it'd be safer in the long run for you anyway." You replied easily,

"Then thank you, I appreciate the generosity." She said with a wide smile, "My names Katara."

"John." You replied,

"John...that's an...interesting name." She said with a little cock of her head. You smirked at this, of course your name was weird to her, you figured your time with Katara would be interesting to say the least.
