The Journey Back

You Spot Miguel

You start your journey back with a strong sense of triumph. This turned out much better than you could have hoped. You and your follow the same formation you took when you were going to Toscana. As you make your way through the main street of the city, your eyes spot a familiar face who is looking at you at first with a confused look before it shifts to a face of understanding. He gives you a coy smile.

You get off your horse and make your way to Miguel with three men trailing you. "I should have known better, Almain." Miguel nods his head in acknowledgment. "Or should I say, King of Ostgrenze. I suppose a congratulations are in order for your success in winning over the Duchess."

You tell him humbly, "I had help." Miguel nods again. "I thought you left already."

"Let's just say a gut feeling told me something interesting would happen so I oft to stay longer. I was not wrong." He chuckles. "I am yet to thank you for the ale. Perhaps one day and maybe you could tell me just what you did to win over the Duchess. I doubt she made you go through the Trials."

You shake your head, "No, she did not." You take it as a good sign when Miguel offers you his hand. "Treat me to some ale again someday, my friend. You have stories to tell me." You shake Miguel's offered hand. "You count on the ale but it would depend on the stories."

"My ship leaves at mid-day. The King of Asturias will expect my report and it does not bode well to keep a king waiting. Safe travels, my friend. May the Almighty above keep you and your own safe."

"And safe sailing to you and yours. If the Almighty is good, he will have us cross each other's paths." You then part ways. He and his men head for the ports. You hop on back on your horse and leave your Duchy of Toscana.
