You Decide to Leave

You head to the "room" you share with your brother. You grab as much clothes as you can fit in a cloth rucksack as well as the money that you had managed to save up. You head over to the cooking area and take as much food as you can carry. This is it. You're going to be free from your overbearing father, free from this annoying, boring village, and free to see the rest of the world.

However, you remember the money that your parents keep under the bed to buy seed and equipment for next year. You know you shouldn't, but it's likely you'll never see your parents again after this, so what does it matter if you take their coin?

Though, you know the punishment for theiving is very harsh. You remember one of your no-good cousins, Porani was branded with a large T on his right cheek in the middle of the town square. You also remember Renee, whose father made her sleep with a fat farmer in exchange for a deal on a horse. It really wasn't her fault, but she was branded with a large W on her cheek for whoring without a license.

Still, you're leaving, not coming back, and no one knows which way you might go.
