Chapter 6 by Vain Vain

So what will you tell the tribe? And what else would the girl need to know about it?

You're upfront with Alani, and tell the tribe what they need to know

"And one more thing..." You tell the girl, with a more serious look to your face as you turn to leave your tent with her. Though you're not quite sure of how she will take it, you decide it's best to keep your most immediate intentions upfront to her. "My tribe will not simply accept you as my 'disciple', as the word would imply in your native tongue..."

"No, my lord." She seems to understand what you mean, although she lowers her eyes a bit in shame. That, together with her diligent use of a title for you, gives the exact right impression that you want her to display for your people. "I'm... merely your housekeeper, then...?"

"I believe that would be a correct term for it, yes." You nod at her approvingly, as it does indeed sound better than a simple ****.

That is also quite exactly what you tell your tribesmen, who accept your decision with a mix of contempt and fascination. Some would likely have preferred to see her treated like your dear old father would have seen to, but overall they're at least not openly opposed to the idea of their chieftain keeping a pet human girl as his personal property. Many others would possibly have done the same thing if they'd been in your own position.

"Well, that's it for now!" You wrap up the short meeting outside your tent, and you make certain that the entire tribe will have heard the news well before sunset. None of the scouts or hunting parties should have any further objections, but if they would they're more than welcome to voice them later in private.

"So, let's get us some food then...?" You continue with a wry smile towards the new addition to your tribe, who's been waiting right next to you with her deep blue eyes still lowered to the ground while she's endured the inspection of your curious tribesmen.

"But, what about my training...?" She manage to surprise you with the pleading look on her face, and it takes her a couple of seconds before she comes to realize her position.

"I'm sorry...!" She swallows hard, and then blushes deep red when you let out a laughter at her. "I have no right to ask you...!"

"No! I'm looking forwards to practice with you!" You tell her with a wide and generous grin, but then point to that thin waist and slender figure of hers. "But we still need to feed you first, and then I'm certain you could need some rest!"

It's difficult to think she was almost about to faint from hunger and exhaustion just a couple of minutes ago however, and you come to watch her in a new light as she wolves down the food that you bring her from outside your tent. She might not be a born warrior at all, but at heart she's a lot more tenacious than you'd come to believe.

Which, in turn, could also mean that she's better suited for carrying your litter than you'd figured when you accepted the terms of her stay...

So, how to deal with her for the rest of her first day in your camp...?
