You're in

You take another step forward with your eyes still closed, expecting to walk into the wall any second now. When you don't need anything, you take another step forward, and then another. By now, you're certain that you'd have encountered the wall that was right in front of you moments ago, and you slowly open your eyes. Instead of seeing the brick wall with the painted mural, you see a long, well-lit hallway that seems to go on forever. The walls are a calming ocean blue and the ceiling is so high up you can't even see it.

Gulping, you look over your shoulder to see the brick wall. It's unpainted, so you must be looking at it from the other side. Your hunch was right, although you're still finding it difficult to believe, even if you're wearing 5 rings that allow you to do the unimaginable. You start walking towards the other end of the hallway, which seems to stretch on forever, and you're not really sure how long it takes you, until you see a man sitting at a reception desk at the end. He's wearing a smart blue suit that matches the walls, and as you approach his desk, you guess he's in his 40s or 50s.

He adjusts his silver-rimmed glasses before he addresses you. "Name?" he asks.

"Uh, John."

"Surname?"

"Wall," you say the first thing that pops into your head, not wanting to give him your real identity. You must still be thinking about the wall you'd walked through.

"Purpose of your visit?"

"Um... I'm here to see someone."

"Presumably," the man remarks sarcastically. "Who are you here to see?"

"Sienna Stone." You reckon it's better to give a name you know is associated with this place, rather than to make 1 up. The man nods and reaches under his desk and retrieves a thick leather-bound book. It looks like an old guest book. He opens it and flips to the first available page and starts to write in it while you stand there, waiting for his further instruction. When he is finished, he slams the book shut and looks up at you. "Well then, what are you waiting for? Do you require an escort?"

"No. That will be fine. I can find my way."

"Very well," the man says. You look around and notice that the hallway splits into a 'T' at this juncture behind the man and you choose to go down the left side. When you look over your shoulder as you walk away from the desk, the man is just sitting upright with his hands clasped together and staring forward. Bemused that security is seemingly so lax for a place of supposed importance and magic, you speed up your pace, eager to explore and find out more about this place.
