You're discovered

"You shouldn't be down here."

You quickly turn around to see who said those words, but all you see is a bright light in the doorway that forces you to shield your eyes.

"You really shouldn't be down here," the voice repeats. It's a woman's voice, although you don't recognize it at all. It could be 1 of the women in Nigel's estate that you hadn't gotten acquainted with yet.

"Who... who are you?" you ask as your eyes try to adjust to the bright light, but for some reason, you can't seem to look beyond it. Even after straining your eyes, all you can make out is the thin silhouette of someone standing in the middle of the light, but you can't make out any of her features.

"..."

"Hey! Turn off the light, will you? It's blinding me," you say.

"...I can't. Your eyes are not meant to see me," the voice responds.

Now you're starting to worry. While this person hasn't threatened you yet, something feels off, and you get ready to activate your teleportation ring in case you need to escape quickly.

"What does that mean?! Did you sign a contract with Nigel? Because if you did, the contract transferred to me and you have to listen to me now!" you shout, trying not to sound scared.

The figure covered in light moves forward slightly, although it doesn't change you ability to see her. "No. I didn't sign a contract with Nigel. He and I had a different agreement. He didn't tell you about me, did he?"

You shake your head. "No. What agreement did you have with him? And why is his body here? Is he still alive?"

"No, Nigel is dead. But it doesn't mean he's gone."

"You're going to bring him back to life? Like, reanimate him?"

"... no. I could, but no. I offered to before he died, but he was insistent that I don't, and I shall respect his wishes. But having his body here comforts me."

"Who are you?!?" you ask again.
