Yoshi and Yuei do a dry run

“Let’s test this thing out!” Yoshi says excitedly. He is already typing into his laptop, bringing up the command protocols. Yuei watches over the man’s shoulder, curiously as he continues to talk. “I can remote access the suit through this app. This is essential since you can’t really carry anything with you if you’re going to wear it.”

Yuei nods, running her hands down the one piece, full body outfit. No space for pockets and, even if there were, it’d ruin the suit’s capability to become invisible. “That is a big limitation.”

“Still, there are plenty of uses for a suit like this! You could observe wildlife without disturbing it, work as an invisible stage hand for movie productions, reducing the costs of special effects, discreetly monitor crimes in action and apprehend the criminal at the scene!”

“You could also peep in the women’s change room…” Yuei adds cynically.

“A heh…” Yoshi blushes, adding innocently, “I suppose you could… but I wouldn’t do such a thing to you like that!” He lowers his head, concentrating more on his screen, not daring to his coworker in the eyes.

Yuei’s face flushes up, wondering what Yoshi would try if he had a suit like this that fit him. Her thoughts then turned to her own body, wondering if it would be worth peeping in on. “You wouldn’t?” she asks, timidly, tilting her slender form from one angle to the next, trying to look appealing. Her timid nature takes over quickly though, causing her to abruptly tighten up, hugging her arms. “I mean, good. That would be a bad thing to do! Imean, if you were to peep in on me… you wouldn’t want to, right…?”

“OK! Are you ready to give this a go?” Yoshi asks, totally missing the girl’s question.

Too afraid to pry further, Yuei returns her attention to the task at hand. “Alright, let’s see this…” she agrees.

“You mean NOT see this…” Yoshi corrects with a smug grin.

Yuei gives her coworker a disdainful sigh and says, “Just turn it on already!”

At the push of a button, the two marvel as Yuei’s body lights up and then dematerializes before their eyes!

“OH! WOW!” Yuei cries out, amazed.

“Great! It totally looks like you’re not there!” Yoshi says, jumping out of his seat. He reaches out to touch the empty space and is abruptly met with soft lady flesh.

The two pause from their celebration as Yoshi’s hands are cupped around invisible breasts. The thin material barely hides the feeling of Yuei’s stiff nipples protruding from underneath. The faces of the two colleagues simultaneously turn beet red and panic builds up between them! Quickly, they turn around in embarrassment.

“Yep… definitely there!” Yoshi remarks to Yuei, rubbing is head anxiously. Then, he whispers under his breath, “So soft…”

“W..worked perfectly!” Yuei agrees, staring at the ground.

The pair brush off the incident and refocus on the suit. Yuei finds her reflection in the tower window and notes, “What about my head? Doesn’t it look weird that my head is still showing?” She bobs her head up and down and walks around as if she were a headless spirit.

“Oh! Right! We developed a mask for that!”

“I won’t have to cut my hair, will I?” Yuei asks, holding her long silky locks with concern.

“You can bundle up your hair for this demonstration. The invisibility won’t be as effective, but it should still work.”

Yuei nods, bundling up her hair and clipping it which simply looks like her hair coming to life on its own and tying itself together. Yoshi passes her the mask which she covers over her head. As soon as the fabric meets the neckline where the suit is cut off, it activates and Yuei is completely hidden from plain view, save for a little bit of distortion around the head when she moves.

“Good?” she asks.

“Great!” Yoshi agrees. “When you don’t move, I can not make you out at all!”

You turn to Maxine and note, ‘That’s some trick! Can we still monitor her even if she’s invisible?”

Maxine, having watched the same scene play out as you have, has already been working out the problem. “From what they say, the suit only bends light to blend in the wearer from the environment. Which doesn’t mean that it bends heat emission, so we could probably track it through infrared.”

To test this theory, your assistant changes the settings on the display and you see everything in thermographics. Yoshi is visible as a red heat source. Yuei is also visible but with a lighter, yellow base.

“It does appear to obscure some of her heat signature but not enough to evade infrared,” Maxine notes.

“Well it’s good that we can still monitor a person, even if they’re invisible,” you nod.

As you and Maxine were discussing the logistics of tracking an invisible woman, the two researchers were running through their demonstration in preparation for their noon meeting. With everything set, Yoshi offered to pick up lunch for his workmate so that she didn’t have to change again until after the demo. This leaves Yuei alone in the office.
