You take her hand, and the two of you rush towards the main entrance.

"Let's get out of here," she says with a soft smile. As you run down the maze of halls past all the solid wooden doors and the same seven motivational posters again and again, you can't keep from staring at your friend. Her dark hair and deep eyes draw you in. Strangly, it feels akward to think of a girl this way.

As you turn the final corner toward the entrance, still holding hands, Jessica abruptly stops, pulling you to a stop too. Ahead of the you in the doorway sits the loser from before. He had his magic device on his wrist, and a screwdriver in his opposite hand. He softly mumbles words you can't quite make out as he repeatedly dives into the circuits of his machine with the screwdriver, sending sparks flying. You think you make out the words "pathetic" and "loser". Slowly looking up, he reveals a deranged smile on his face.

"Jessica!" he exclaims, "I fixed it!" The sing-song nature of the way he said he fixed it sends shivers up your spine. He stands up and aims the device at her. You can see now that the device looks to be torn apart and stuck back together all over. You highly doubt it's working properly, but that doesn't give you any ease of mind. Who knows what this thing will do to you if he uses it? Certainly not him.

Looking around, you see a doorway into the main office. You know that there's a faculty entrance in there, but you would have to risk running towards him a few steps as the doorway lies between you and him. Alternatively, you could dive back around the corner you just came from, but it's likely that you'll come across some other twisted obstacle before your next chance to escape. Finally one of you could distract him, drawing his fire while the other runs up and knocks him out. Unfortunately, he's more likely to fire at Jessica at the moment and she's clearly more capable of knocking him ****.

"Shit. Any Ideas, Mel?" Jessica asks you. Sweat rolls down her pretty brow.
