Yes.
Whatever it is, it's something new. Maybe dangerous, but still something more interesting than toiling around in the dungeon for the rest of your life. You walk towards the tunnel, your walking transitioning into running as you remember that your boss will respawn eventually and you should try to be quicker about it. You hear the stone door slide shut behind you, sending a chill down your spine at the thought of being stuck in this dark place, but also offering you some comfort due to the apparent safety from your boss.
You only get a few metres in before you see a light in the distance, soon emerging in a chamber lit up by candles. Looking around, you deduce that it's a living quarter of some sort. A cheap bed stands in one corner, a desk with tools for cooking in another, and other necessities for living are placed out in the medium-sized room. The comfort from before vanishes and is replaced with another spine-chill as you realize this must be where your boss lives. And potentially where he respawns.
What happens next?
You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
