Despite her Aunt and Uncle making her feel welcomed and loved, Emma felt odd being so familiar with family members she knew so little about. Trying her best not to be rude about it, Emma gently pulled back and took a step back from her Uncle.

Edward seemed to give a frown then quickly recovered. "Where are my manners? It's been so many years, you probably feel a little overwhelmed being here. Come on, let us show you to your room and let you get settled."

As if on Cue, Aunt Maude stepped back into the entryway. "The tea water is on, Dear. Let us get you situated."

Edward gave a small wink and chuckled, "Great minds think alike."

Maude seemed puzzled then nudged her husband with her elbow. "Grab her suitcase, Ed. The poor thing shouldn't have to carry that up the stairs."

"It's really no problem, I mean you guys are suffering a loss too," Emma started, but Maude shushed her with a wave of her hand and started up the creaking staircase. Emma and Edward, with suitcase in hand, followed after.

Once they hit the top of the stairs they went to the first room on their left. "Here we are, Jake's old room. He's away at school so make yourself comfortable. If he comes home this weekend then he can take the couch downstairs."

Aunt Maude pointed across the hall. "That's the bathroom. The two rooms down the hall are the twin's. Jenny's is that one," she pointed to the room next to the bathroom, "she still has the bunk beds if you get too lonely and don't want to sleep in Jake's room alone. The room across from Jenny's is James'. Jimmy and Jen are around here somewhere, but why don't you relax first, then we'll worry about them come suppertime. I'll get the tea steeping. I can bring you a cup in a minute. In the meantime, feel free to make yourself at home."

Emma thanked her Aunt, then took her suitcase from Edward and thanked him too. Then she went into Jake's room and closed the door.
