"Well, congratulations!" Dakota said, forcing a bright smile. She reached out, but Mia flinched away, sinking into a nearby armchair.

"I—I don't know what to say," Mia stammered. "Ho-how can it already be positive if this just happened yesterday?" She clutched the tests tightly, as though they might somehow reveal an answer.

Seth scratched the back of his head, his brow furrowing. "I... I don’t know. We're clearly dealing with something... supernatural? Spiritual? This is crazy."

Mia let out a bitter laugh. "I guess I'm gonna be a mom. Wait—who the fuck was even the father? Do you guys remember?"

"It was just some guy that came out of the bathroom in the beginning," Aaron said, avoiding her gaze as he spoke.

Mia groaned, burying her face in her hands. "God, I’m really gonna be a single mom."

"It’s okay, we’re here for you," Claire said gently, kneeling by Mia’s side and putting a hand on her shoulder.
