Chapter 44 by EthanRave

What does Nia say?

Yes

"Good afternoon milady and what can I do for you today?" The young alchemist questioned as he stared at the adventurer before him.

"Oh, we were just browsing." Nia answered as she walked over to counter and leaned forward giving him ample view of her cleavage. "We have some time to kill before head back to the mines." She told him.

"Ah, so you're the adventures the mayor hired." The alchemist answered. "Many thanks."

"Aren't you the polite one." Nia giggled as she looked around. "So tell me what exactly do you here, just out of curiosity?" She questioned.

"Admittedly...not much." He answered her nervously. "Despite the title, I only know the basics. I didn't get to finish my training due to some family issues."

"Oh, that's too bad." Nia remarked. "Looking at some of the equipment you have here, I thought you'd be doing some forbidden stuff like transmuting plants and animals or something."

"Those are just rumors." The boy dismissed. "They are the kind of ghost stories some old folks make up to discourage people from pursuing alchemy. They like to say we're mad scientists tampering with nature and messing with forces beyond our control." He explained. As he talked scribed a small magic circle in the wood of the counter.

"That's not true, not in the slightest." He told Nia as he pressed his palm on the circle. In a flash of light part of the counter had disappeared and in the alchemist's hand was now a wooden flower. "We alchemist learn how nature truly operates and appreciate it." He mused as he handed the flower to Nia.

Nia's lips curved into a smile as she took the chalk from the alchemist. "Well said." Nia, no Cyrus, answered as she redrew the circle and pressed her palm. The flower disappeared, returning to the counter.

"You know alchemy." The boy questioned.

"I dabble." Nia answered. "I was hoping you could have thought me what you know." She sighed. If junior here truly didn't finish studies, she wouldn't learn anything new.

"Sorry to disappoint." He apologized.

"No worries." Nia consoled. "I'm just happy to find another living breathing alchemist." She told him. "Perhaps I could teach you." She suggested as she leaned closer to his face. She noticed the redden of his cheeks. He was flustered, cute.

"How would you do that?" He questioned. Wasn't she busy with her party?

"Like this." Nia whispered and then grabbed him by the collar before pulling him in for a kiss. The alchemist's world, soon went dark.
