Chapter 3

Does Ruby Rose put on the bracelet containing the Crimson Dragon's Armor?
Yes
As Ruby looked at the bracelet, she recalled the past couple of years in her life, and everything that's happened. Getting captured by Torchwick and the White Fang during the Mountain Glenn mission, the Fall of Beacon Academy and Pyrrha's ****, Weiss nearly getting killed by Cinder during the fight at Haven, the Jinns revelations about Ozpin and Salem's past, barely surviving the Apathy hoards at Brunswick Farms, her failure to stop the Leviathan completely with her silver eye powers. In nearly every case where she either had to stand alone in a fight, or when a battle or someone's life hinged on her efforts, it just wasn't enough. Either someone died, or she had to lean on the efforts of others to succeed. Even though she felt like she get better, there was the lingering feeling that it wasn't enough, especially as the fights get tougher, and more dangerous. Ruby is supposed to be the leader; as she sees it, she had to lead by example, and be there for her teammates, not the other way around. She may be good with strategy, and coordinating with rest of her team, but that's all she seems to be good at these days, and lately her strategies have been lacking or rendered useless, leading to a drawn out, and possibly costly, melee that could go either way.
Before taking on this mission to the vault, Ruby started thinking to herself whether she was really keep up with being a huntress. After so many close calls in recent months, she started to feel helpless. Outside of work as a huntress, and while not on mission, she seemed fine, but in the field, and in the fight, she started to feel a little battle weary. Throughout her life she thought very little about herself, always about her friends and family, putting their feelings above her own, and it is only now that she began to think of her own feelings, and she it was then that everything that she had endured since Beacon's fall began to take a toll on her, worsened by her putting on a brave face for everyone in fear of her sister and teammates noticing her worsening state during missions. She knew that if something like what happened at Beacon would happen again, or if someone close to her, like Penny, Weiss, Blake, or especially her sister Yang, were to die, she might never be able to recover.
With all of that in mind, Ruby Rose looked at the bracelet before her, faced with a decision that could possibly change everything, and with no way to take it back once it's made. That being said, life as a huntress was anything but normal, especially in her case. It was then that Ruby can only think of one thing to do: Grit her teeth, and bear it. She opened the plastic case containing the bracelet, took the artifact, and slipped it over her right hand. At first nothing happened as the bracelet hung loosely on her wrist, but then the silver gem atop it began to glow brightly. The bracelet began to shrink, tightening around Ruby's wrist, making her wince a little. That was almost nothing compared to what happened next, when a series of what seem like needles could be felt around her wrist, digging through her leather cuff and sleeve, and into her flesh, causing her to yelp and fall to her knees. The pain only lasted a few seconds before stopping, and when Ruby looked at her arm, she was shocked to see the bracelet... expanding; the shiny red scales spreading outward in all directions across her arm. The scales spreading towards her hand were fast, covering each individual finger, but while the scales on the back of her hand remained the same red as the original bracelet, the scales on her palm took on a pale, grey color, and as for her fingernails, they too were consumed by the tide of red scales, only for shiny, dark crimson colored, claw-like nails to grow from the scales in their place. The scales spreading up her arm remained the same red color all around, but unlike with her hand, the scales stopped spreading just short of her elbow. With a moment's respite, Ruby took a look at her scale covered arm, in awe of the shine of the scales covering it. After doing a test of flexibility in her hand, she found that not only do the scales not hinder any dexterity at all, she still had a sense of touch through said scales despite the fact that it also feels like she still has her skin underneath. It was then that something new was growing out of the scales. Large, platelike pieces of armor grew from the scales surrounding her wrist, with one ground out towards her elbow, covering up most of her forearm, and another set itself on the back of her hand; both plates acting as a new layer of armor, and colored a shiny dark crimson, the same as her new claws. Finally, a silver gem grew itself out of the the pale grew scales covering the balm of her hand, similar to the one on the original bracelet, but smaller. In fact, Ruby realized that there was no indication that the bracelet was ever there, apart from the silver gem that is now attached to her scale covered wrist.
Ruby waited a moment for any more weird changes to happen, but nothing did, at least for now. She then inspected her right arm again, in awe of what happened to it. It was only now did she notice the smoke coming from what was left of her right sleeve, realizing that everything the armor covered had burned away whatever clothing was covering her forearm in the process of its growth. "Oh geez," she said to herself, recalling the day she got her current outfit, "this is gonna be awkward to explain to the tailor." After holding up her arm above her head to inspect her new gauntlet's luster, she began to feel a slight headache, as if something was being **** into her head while her ears began ringing, before suddenly stopping. It was then that Ruby began to recall something she never knew before. Holding her hand out and open, she began to concentrate, using her newly acquired knowledge. It was then that the gem in her palm glowed, and a ball of fire appeared in her hand. Ruby lit up with excitement as she realized that she had just gained the power to summon and control fire, and with the knowledge the armor gave her, she can even set the blade of her Crescent Rose aflame, fire incendiary rounds without the need for fire-based dust, and enhance her petal burst with fire and make it into a sort of flaming tornado drill.
"This. Is. AWESOME!" Ruby yelled, starting to aim her armored hand and shot balls of fire towards every direction (while avoiding all the artifacts and anything sensitive around her, of course) while yelling, "FIREBALL!"
"FIREBALL! FIREBALL! FIREBALL! FIREBALL! FIREBALL! FIREBALL! FIREBALL! FIREBALL! FIREBALL! FIREBALL!"
Which of Ruby's teammates shows up first to find out what all the commotion is about?
