Chapter 18
by SingingLark
Should Liandra dress the collar?
Yes
Liandra dressed the collar, but didn't feel any immediate side effects. She was about to remove it when Rodrik said "It is very pretty on you". She blushed, and left it there.
"Can you hear this song?" Liandra asked their companions, but none knew what she was talking about. "I think it is coming from that direction" Liandra pointed towards a wall, and Nariel unearthed a secret door. While he was looking for how to open, Calcifer simply got fed up and blew it up with his magical bolts.
This corridor was long and trap filled. Nariel disarmed them all, proving himself an expert rogue on their descent. They eventually reached another secret door, but didn't open it, for they could hear voices on the other side
"The demonic forces you brought me are pitiful. Barely any stronger than a human." This voice was cruel and feminine, and distinctly inhuman. Almost reptile
"They are a failure, I admit. I expected more for my trouble" This one had the allure of a beautiful woman, and an accent Liandra couldn't quite place. "Dispose me if you will, or let me try to atone. I wont insult your Draconian intelligence by trying to grovel."
The companions looked among themselves...dragon! Likely the most dangerous monster there was in the kingdoms, dragons were reputedly almost invulnerable, had claws sharper than any sword, commanded terrible magic and, worst of all, had the powerful breath weapon. And whoever was with him, surely it was a powerful magician.
Her companions all look towards Liandra, ready to follow her orders against these mortal odds.
What will Liandra command?
