Yes the Totem of Futarima!

Judy brushed her teeth as she watched the news, the famous explorer Marni Floose a mink, had found an artifact belonging to an ancient fertility deity that most had never heard of as it had been forgotten over time. It had been a year since the downfall of the Lynxley family, and she and Nick not only recaptured all 200 criminals but had busted an underground **** smuggling ring, and an illegal reptile product manufacturing scheme. Suffice to say the pair had become star operatives in the ZPD with a hefty salary hike to match. With said hike both got brand new apartments but back to the news. She watched as Marni began to explain the totem. Marni was rather large for a mink about as big as a bunny, she had pure white fur save for two black circle patches on her eyes, "This totem was used very much in early animal history as it belonged to the Fertility Godess Futarima!" she explained she had a strong and commanding voice, "In those times herbivores would use the totem to breed so much that the carnivores couldn't attack them without suffering losses. It is said that only a chosen few could use the powers of the totem which gave them the ability to breed with both male and female animals! Not only that but it was said they could wield a small portion of the goddesses power! However it is said that the totem came with a curse and that curse was the desire to forever want to breed.

Religion was a tricky thing in the general animal kingdom, there were some who believed that there was a deity that granted them their enhanced intelligence an bipedal forms. Others who believed it was natural evolution, many of the animals in more isolated parts of the world still believed in various deities and the like. Though more modern societies dismissed these claims. Judy was neutral on the subject she didn't believe but she felt that modern animals couldn't just have 'evolved' if they truly had they wouldn't be able to go feral again. Part of her remembered Mr. Big's ominous words from his daughter's wedding, "My child we may be evolved... but deep down we are still animals." she stopped mid-brush to think on those words. Deep down, we are animals, she hoped that she would never see her animal side come out.

It was then the news caught her attention, "Today the totem of Futarima will be on display for a limited time in the museum of old history, in the ancient animals section and with it we also put up various texts and items related to this lost fertility goddess, it'll be here for 5 days so come take a look! Who knows maybe one of you is the chosen one to harness it's power?" She giggled in a teasing fashion... but as Judy looked at the totem now on display she couldn't help but be... drawn to it. She shook her head and went to wash out her mouth for work.

-ZPD Station an Hour later-

As the day began in the station with the morning assignments the others were there joking and greeting each other. Judy sat at her usual spot waiting for Nick, he walked in with his usual calm swagger. Cup of joe in right hand and his customary large shades on, "Hey Fluffbutt." came the morning tease.

She smiled, "Hey Brushbutt!" she countered.

He smiled and pointed with his free hand, "Good one." he admitted, he sat down next to her pushing his large shades over his eyebrows, "I heard today we're going to be getting a big assignment." he said.

She looked at him, "Ohhh hope we get it!" she said, "Maybe get some punches and kicks in!" she gushed.

He sighed, "What is it with you and wanting a fight recently?" he asked.

She frowned, "Oh come on Nick it's been month since we had a nice exciting case!" she pointed out, he had to admit she was right.

He smiled at her, "We're just too good at our jobs." he said, "The price of being the good guys." He said as he sipped his coffee.

It was then that Bogo came in, "Alright, alright settle down," he began but as the rowdiness continued he gave a sharp whistle, "Hey! Enough!" when silence was achieved he nodded, "Good now then first things first, as you might have seen earlier this morning some artifact came in today, shortly after it's announcement a threat to steal the artifact was sent. It was sent by the Silver Fox." He held up a letter, on the front of the letter was a symbol that looked like a grinning fox with silver coloring. This caused an immediate focus, the Sliver Fox was a long time thief who had stolen many treasures and artifacts for several years now. However lately both Judy and Nick had foiled 3 thefts but had been unable to capture the culprit in question. "As a result we're getting our very best to guard this artifact 24 hours a day till it is sent off to the next museum and it becomes someone else's problem." he said, he turned his gaze to Nick and Judy, "I take it our two best will be on this hopefully this time they'll catch the perp huh?" there was a slight chuckle from the others but they knew better than to laugh out loud after all only Nick and Judy came close to actually catching the Silver Fox.

Nick and Judy both got off their chairs to get the files from Bogo, he handed them the files, "Good luck you two." he said.

Nick smirked, "We'll get them this time!" He confidently stated.

Bogo nodded, "I hope so this Silver Fox has been on the run for too long now." A somber nod from both as they left to prepare.

-That Night-

Nick stood at the totem's display case, the day had gone with many seeing the statue, while Nick and Judy made their plan to catch the Silver Fox. Nick would be out on guard duty while Judy watched from the camera room. But that wasn't all they had set up a laser system in all the vents, and also had redundant camera's installed that would help prevent camera's being taken out as these redundant camera's would activate should the original camera's be disabled. Finally they had beefed up the Museum's lockdown mode to be deactivated by pawprint scan only. Only Nick and Judy could disable it or doors activated via the lockdown.

With everything set all that was left was for their quarry to show. Nick stood wearing his shades scanning behind the tinted lenses. "How's it going Foxy?" Came Judy's voice on the wire to his ear.

He smiled, "Oh it's going peachy, not like I'm afraid my legs gonna fall asleep or anything." He dryly replied.

She chuckled, "Bear with it, they'll show themselves sooner or later it's almost time." She checked the clock which read 9:59 PM. The Silver Fox's threat was to strike at 10:00 and by 10:10 they would be gone with the totem in hand.

He nodded, "Gotcha alright fluff keep your peepers open." he said. As he cut off contact he paused then turned his head just enough to glance at the totem... he didn't tell Judy but ever since he saw the video of the totem earlier in the morning he felt... very drawn to it for some reason. He shook his head, he had a job to do, he turned away and focused on his surroundings.

She turned back to the camera's her eyes scanning across them, then she paused at one screen. She looked at it closely... something was... off about the display. She looked closer and saw the problem, it read 9:50 PM... while the rest turned to 10:00 PM this was the back entrance that they used for loading up heavy artifacts. She pressed her wire, "Nick they're here! They looped one of the feeds!" She said, "I'm gonna try to find them you stay there!" she said.

Nick reached for his gun, "Gotcha fluff be careful the Silver Fox has got some mean moves." he warned.

Judy nodded, "Oh I got meaner moves now." she growled and she pressed the lockdown button before jumping out of her chair to begin her search. Alarms blared and metallic doors slid down cutting off access, from various rooms. Now only Nick and Judy could open up the doors slammed shut.

Nick looked around backing up to the totem but taking care not to touch any of the lasers and prematurely triggering the trap. He kept looking then his ears pricked up as he heard a voice digitally enhanced to hide any masculine or feminine tones. "Nicholas Wilde, I'm honored that they put you and the bunny on protection duty." spoke the voice of the Silver Fox. Nick turned off the safety of his weapon.

He looked around calmly, "Nice of you to drop by Silver Fox we might of missed you that time but we'll get you this time." he said.

A chuckle, "Maybe you will, maybe you won't I don't think you can catch me but you're welcome to try!" Suddenly all the lights shut off, but Nick's night vision allowed him to see in the dark. He turned and saw a figure running toward him on silent steps, he aimed and fired.

-Judy-

Judy ran toward the back but her ears caught the sound of Nick's gun going off, and she turned and began to run to where Nick was. As she did she couldn't help but check her watch, it read 10:03, 7 minutes to go before the Silver Fox pulled off their heist. She ran as fast as she could even hopping off walls for the occasional speed boost. She saw the door blocking off the area where the totem was being kept and raised up her hand to place a paw on the scanner it read her paw and lit green the metallic door raised up and Judy saw Nick fighting with someone. The tail of the figure was clearly a fox's, a silvery white color from tip to base, and the figure had a digital mask that portrayed a pixelated face. The face was currently smirking confidently as the figure dealt well practiced blows on Nick. Judy had to intervene, she ran to a pillar hopped on it then crouching she jumped off and came flying toward the two, foot outstretched in a classic flying kick.

An eye of the Silver Fox's face turned to her, "Good of you to join us Officer Hopps, I hope you can put up a better fight than your boyfriend here." Judy blushed and her stance faltered, just enough for the thief to duck down. The Silver Fox let Judy soar overhead and land sloppily then they stood up their foot lifting off the ground to kick Nick right in the jaw it was a hard blow that turned his head and made him fall spinning to the ground.

Judy turned, "Nick!" She shouted and she ran up drawing her gun but the Silver Fox went to Nick grabbed him by the neck and held him up as a body shield.

Judy faltered, "Uh-uh, I don't think you want a bullet in your partner now do you?" said the Silver Fox.

Judy gritted her teeth, "Damn you!" She growled.

The thief's pixelated face smirked, "Sorry Hopps but ever since I saw the statue a few days ago I... need it. Can't explain it but that statue must be in my hands!" Said the criminal.

Judy gritted her teeth, then suddenly there was a loud feedback sound, then crackling static that made the animals flatten their ears, "That is because you are feeling the call of the goddess." A new voice said, it was feminine sounding, "To think there would be other's worthy of the attention of the goddess' blessing. The Question is who will get the totem first?" Suddenly all the light's went out, as did the laser lights, only for the emergency flood lights to turn on. Judy could see the Silver Fox looking around then there was a loud explosion and Judy turned to see the door leading to the main foyer blown open and from it a single individual walked forward. It was a female wolf dressed in a white robe, that had revealing chest and leg cutouts showing she had quite a large bust. "I am Freya high-priestess of the Fang Divinity," she introduced, "Long have my people been seeking for the totem, and today I will have it." She said.

All eyes were focused on her, then Judy turned fully, "How did you get in here? There should be a squad outside!" she noted.

Freya chuckled, "Ah yes it's very easy to deal with police thanks to sleeping gas. Besides I have some soldiers outside." she said, "Now if you'll excuse me I'll take what's rightfully mine." she said walking up, but Judy pulled out her gun and fired at the wolfs feet causing her to stop.

Judy smiled, "The Fang Divinity you say? I've heard of your little cult," Freya's face darkened at the word 'cult' as Judy kept talking, "In the old days, when carnivores used to be the dominant **** the herbivores despite their number were unable to overpower the carnivores they were stronger and still had enough numbers to not be overwhelmed then one day a herbivore offered themself to the goddess and from that day forward the number of herbivores shot up, and they banded together to fight back. Eventually the number of herbivores grew so much that they no longer needed the totem and thus the goddess fell into obscurity." she said.

Freya held up her hands and slow clapped, "Impressive for a bunny." She said, a **** smile on her face.

Judy shrugged, "Did some homework shortly after taking this job, which leads to my next question, why are you here?" she asked, "What carnivores are dying out or something?" she asked.

Freya looked at the totem, "No, we carnivores have a healthy population... but we are not the dominant species, we are 'allies' of herbivores our food. It's insulting, and the only meat we can eat are idiotic small birds, no we want a world where things are put back to status quo, where the herbivores are beneath us once again not by our side, we are stronger, faster, and more dangerous than you, we are not equal! We will remind Zootopia of this one way or another." she said, "Now unless you mean to kill me you'd best put that gun down." she said and began to walk forward. Judy shot again this time the bullet grazed Freya's cheek creating a small cut but the wolf kept walking, not wanting a fatality Judy aimed for the leg. Freya then ran forward with such a burst of speed that it took Judy aback. A foot came up and kicked her in the face sending her flying to the podium where the totem was slamming into it and causing the totem to jump briefly into the air. The Silver Fox threw down Nick and charged at Freya.

"That totem is mine!" screeched the thief.

Freya smirked, "I know all about you Silver Fox... or should I say Miss Sylvari Foxworth?" she said.

The Silver Fox faltered and Freya slammed a fist into the thief's gut making them bend forward following by a knee to the chin as the Silver Fox fell Freya smirked the thief staggered back and regained their footing. By this point Nick regained consciousness, while Judy stood up rubbing her swelling cheek. But she was surprised by the name. "Sylvaria Foxworth? The head of Foxworth Defenses!?" She was shocked.

Nick shook his head to clear his fog of dizziness, "Wait Carrots did I hear just right Sylvari Foxworth?" he asked.

Judy nodded, "So that's how she is able to escape she knows all the defense plans of every building in Zootopia!" she realized.

The Silver Fox, Sylvari Foxworth, gritted her teeth under her mask, but decided to play it cool, "Me? Sylvari Foxworth? That's quite an accusation but I don't see any evidence or proof behind that." she bluffed.

Freya smiled, "Hmmmm true I don't have any physical proof, what I do have though is proof of memory. After all, 'Silver's true worth is in purity of color not in it's monetary value.' Right?" she smirked.

A long silence, "How can that be?" Said the Silver Fox, "Few individuals know those words... and yet I've never seen you before in my life." she said.

Freya chuckled, "That's my secret Sylvari, but enough talk I will take the totem. While you were indeed right that it was used by herbivores bunny originally it could be used by anybody worthy enough for the goddess' gift. In fact it's last chosen one was my ancestor. But they were betrayed shortly after receiving the gift they died never reaching their full potential... today I will right that wrong." she said.

Nick got to his feet recovered thanks to the excessive talking. "Is that so?" he began. "Then I guess the only thing to do is to take it before you do." he said.

Judy smiled, "I agree," and she reached for her hip and pulled out a tonfa baton. She flourished it expertly and held it to her side, "I've done some serious training for CQC." she stated a fact she was most proud of.

Freya chuckled, "Oh-ho-ho-ho, stupid bunny all I need to do is kill you three and take what's mine." she reached into her robes and pulled out shining clawed gauntlets. "And I assure you I have the skill to do so." she said.

The Silver Fox stepped forward and held up her hands which were straight like a knife at an angle, "I hope you've brushed up your skills bunny the fox obviously didn't." she said.

Nick wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, "I was just playing along till Judy came, I'm not losing this time." It was a tense standoff. The first to strike was Freya she charged at Judy because of Judy's diminutive size the wolfess had to compensate and she thrusted both claws at the bunny. Judy brought up her tonfa the blades sliding along the metallic weapon sparks flying. Judy shifted her arm muscles flexing as she deflected the attack to the side she then used the position to bring her foot up to a kick to the face. Freya dodged by moving her body with her failed attack. Nick made for the Silver Fox his hands up in his pocket, when he was close enough he pulled them out revealing large knuckle dusters on his fingers. The Silver Fox's face turned to surprise and Nick took the moment to punch her in the face. The Silver Fox's HUD sparked as the blow hit damaging it.

The Silver Fox, Sylvari, was surprised, 'The cop really was holding back! Then I better not either!' she realized. She focused and began to attack using kicks and swift thrusting jabs but Nick matched her dodging the attacks, eventually he dodged a kick and performed a powerful counter jab to the Silver Fox's stomach. The air was knocked out of her, as the knuckle sunk in lifting her up. A punch to the face following up sent her flying backwards onto the ground she slid on the ground a foot then she sat up and rubbed her robotic face. 'The hell he's so strong!? Fuck fighting him I gotta get the treasure!' she realized, and she turned to the treasure still in the pedestal. She inhaled deeply getting her breath back then once it had returned she took off running toward the treasure. Nick saw this and moved to step in front of her, she attacked with a barrage of rapid pokes and thrusts he dodged some but the few that made it threw made him wince the sharpness of the blows digging into his skin. But he knew he couldn't let her get the totem.

Judy was struggling the wolfess was fighting with pose and calm while Judy did everything she could to stop a fatal blow. The fight had left her with various cuts from superficial to deep enough to bleed. If this kept on going she would faint from blood loss, she needed to turn it around... or at the very least deny her the prize. Judy knew it would be best to deny the wolf, so she readied herself shifting her footing and waiting for the blow. "For such skill you have to really hit me with something that will take me out of the game yet, I guess you don't want the totem after all!" Judy goaded.

Her goad was successful as Freya growled "Oh I've been holding back so this is at least entertaining but if you wanna do then let me great your wish!" She snarled and her stance changed her footing spread out and her right arm drew back while her left arm was held up as if she was aiming her blow. Judy shifted her footing and held up her tonfa just in time to block the blow. Had she not done so she would've broken more than just her arm. The blow connected and the **** of it slammed into the tonfa then into her very body her arm bent then snapped. The bone bending awkwardly, Judy suppressing the roar of pain as she jumped backwards in time to the blow. It sent her flying toward the statue, which made Freya's eyes widen with anger, "You! Damn rodent!" she howled and quickly ran after Judy. Judy slammed into the pillar containing the totem which bounced up and fell onto it's side, then it rolled and fell down. Judy raised her hand just as 3 other pairs also reached up for it at the same time but only one would grab it the question was who?
