The voice slithered through the room like warm honey laced with venom. A violet flash cracked the air beside real Jessica, and there she was: his mother’s body, but not her spirit. Selene’s smile widened, “Allow me.”

She lifted one finger and pressed it gently, almost tenderly, to the center of Jessica’s forehead.

A pulse of violet light flared behind Jessica’s eyes. For one heartbeat her face went slack with pure, animal terror; the next, the knowledge slammed into her like a freight train. She saw everything: Margaret’s body twisted into this brainless, cock-hungry slut wearing her own face, her own mother licking Nathan’s cheek while pumping his shaft with shameless pride.

Jessica made a broken, wounded sound and lurched forward, arms outstretched toward the woman who used to be her mom.

“Mom? Mom, it’s me–”

She lunged.

Selene dissolved into a ribbon of purple smoke before Jessica’s hands could close around her throat. The smoke snapped tight around Jessica’s body like living restraints coiling over arms, torso, thighs, pinning her in place mid-lunge. Selene’s upper half rematerialized inches from Jessica’s face, head tilted, eyes blazing violet fire.

“You’re a pretty lady,” Selene whispered, voice syrupy sweet, “but you’d be so much more useful without all those pesky worries.”

She pressed that same finger to Jessica’s forehead again.

Jessica’s mouth opened in a desperate scream that never came. Her eyes ignited bright, blinding purple, pupils blown wide, and then the light drained every thought behind them. The fight left her body in a single exhale. Shoulders sagged. Arms fell limp inside the smoke restraints. Her face went soft, blank, perfectly serene.

Mind wiped clean. Compliant.

Selene let the smoke unravel. Jessica stayed exactly where she was, swaying slightly, eyes glowing that soft, obedient violet, waiting for whatever came next.
