Chapter 26 by Gfnexi
What's next?
Yes but he has to dress as a girl.
“I’d love to mum but I don’t have anything to wear.” Lorenzo said sarcastically. His mum walked over to the wardrobe and pulled out what looked like a white one piece with T-shirt style sleeves, another pair of blue skinny jeans and a pair of gold sandals. “Wear these!” She said handing them to Lorenzo. “No one will recognise you and your cousins and aunty get that you have no clothes here so won’t make any jokes.” Lorenzo agreed and put the clothes on. He made his way downstairs and got into the car.
At the bar, Lorenzo found himself immersed in the lively atmosphere. His cousins welcomed him warmly, making no mention of his unconventional attire. Laughter echoed through the room as stories were shared, and Lorenzo felt like he belonged. For a few hours, the clothes he wore faded into the background, and he simply enjoyed the company of his relatives. As the evening’s warmth settled in and the music swelled, the bar transformed into a spontaneous dance floor. Lorenzo’s cousins were the first to jump up, beckoning him to join. With a hesitant smile, he stood, feeling the rhythm of the music. Lorenzo’s cousins, sensing his hesitation, gathered around him with grins. “Come on, Lorenzo, let’s show you some moves!” they chimed. The eldest cousin, Bianca , took the lead, her hands guiding his hips to sway with a gentle rhythm. “It’s all about the attitude,” she laughed, demonstrating a series of fluid, expressive motions that seemed to tell a story with each gesture.
One by one, his cousins joined in, showing him steps that were graceful and full of flair. They twirled around him, their movements exaggerated and playful, encouraging him to mimic their femininity. Lorenzo watched, his eyes darting from one cousin to the next, slowly picking up the nuances of their dance.
With each new step, Lorenzo’s movements became more confident, more pronounced. He began to laugh, the sound bubbling up from deep within as he let go of his self-consciousness. The dance was a language he was beginning to understand, one that spoke of freedom and fun.
As the night wore on, Lorenzo found himself lost in the music, his body responding naturally to the rhythm. His cousins cheered, their applause warm and genuine. In those moments, surrounded by family and lost in the dance, Lorenzo discovered a new side of himself, one that was liberated and full of life. It was a lesson in dance, but more importantly, it was a lesson in self-expression and the joy of simply being who you are. Under the soft glow of the bar's lights, Lorenzo's cousins took it upon themselves to impart some of the subtleties of feminine mannerisms. They started with the basics, showing him how to sit with his legs crossed gracefully and how to gesture with his hands softly. "It's all in the details," one cousin whispered, demonstrating a delicate touch to the shoulder during a conversation.
They practiced walking, with Lorenzo's cousins coaching him to take smaller, more deliberate steps. "Imagine you're balancing a book on your head," they giggled, watching as Lorenzo tried to glide across the floor with poise. Each cousin contributed their own piece of advice, from the tilt of the head when laughing to the gentle way of holding a glass.
As the night unfolded, Lorenzo found himself adopting these mannerisms with a growing sense of ease. The initial awkwardness gave way to a fluidity that surprised him. He noticed the change in his posture, the newfound softness in his movements, and the way his interactions seemed to carry a different, lighter energy.
When Lorenzo's cousins suggested stepping outside for a smoke, he felt a momentary pause. The night had been full of firsts, and this was yet another unfamiliar scenario. He watched as they made their way to the quieter alley beside the bar, the orange glow of the streetlights casting long shadows on the pavement.
Lorenzo followed, not because he wanted to smoke, but because he didn't want to break the camaraderie that had enveloped him since the evening began. As they stood in a loose circle, the smoke curling upwards, Lorenzo's cousins shared stories between puffs, their laughter punctuating the night air. Bianca pulled another cigarette from the pack and offered it to Lorenzo. When Lorenzo's cousins offered him a smoke, he hesitated for a moment, the unfamiliarity of the situation weighing on him. But then, with a shrug that was part bravado, part curiosity, he accepted. Bianca lit the cigarette and handed it to him, their eyes soft with camaraderie.
Lorenzo took a tentative drag, the smoke hitting his lungs with an unexpected sharpness. He coughed, a little embarrassed, and his cousins laughed, not unkindly. "You'll get used to it," one said, clapping him on the back.
As they stood together outside, the smoke from their cigarettes mingling with the night air, Lorenzo felt a sense of belonging. They talked and joked. Caught up in the flow of the evening, Lorenzo excused himself from the laughter and chatter to navigate through the crowded bar towards the restrooms. The sign for the ladies’ room was a familiar figure in a dress, and for a moment, Lorenzo hesitated, the reality of his attire hitting him. He couldn’t step into the mens room dressed like this. With a deep breath, he entered the ladies restroom.
Inside, the restroom was a flurry of activity. Women touched up their makeup and chatted by the sinks. Lorenzo moved to an empty stall, his heart racing with the fear of being discovered. It was at this point he heard a male moan in the cubicle next to him.
