Yes and no

Cindy quickly and eagerly opened the door and strode into union. You suspected that she was more interested in getting another drink than chasing you. Anne and Larry looked at each other. You couldn’t hear what was said, but it was obvious they were working together. After a moment they split up. Anne was headed towards you while Larry was headed the other way.

There was no doubt that Anne will pass where you are standing. You backed off and pressed yourself against one of the window in the building. It was a shallow depression. There was chance that Anne wouldn’t look your way or that she wouldn’t see you if she did. You didn’t like those odds though. If she spotted you, you figured you could out run her in the short term, but she was likely to get Larry in on the chase. That favored the hunted rather than the hunted. Especially since you weren’t sure there were any places you could get out of sight in that direction.

You could make a run for Fredrick Hall. You had little doubt that Anne would see you. You had no doubt you could get there before her. Once inside you would be out of sight for several seconds before she could get there. There were four ways you could go. Even with Larry, there was a good chance that they wouldn’t be able to follow you. Most likely you would have to chose a new place to hide, but that was not a big deal.

About halfway down the building, there was small bush. It could hide you, but only of you essentially climbed all the way into it. The problem was, there were thorns. They made the bush an unpleasant place to hide, you doubted that anyone would look for you there.

Finally, you could head to the far side of the Student Union. It would allow you to stay out of sight when Anne looked this way when she reached the end of the student union. You could wait for Anne to pass by and then return to Fredrick Hall as you planned.

About halfway from the entrance to the corner of the building, Anne paused and looked back to where Larry was disappearing around the far side of the building. With everyone out of sight or distracted, you needed to act now.
